Default Subtle exterior upgrades?

I have been looking around the net and this forum for subtle exterior modifications that can be made to the Z's exterior to make a more aggressive/stylish look without being the "R" word.

Some things I have see are the chrome grills, fairlady Z badges on the rear, nismo stick (i know some would include this in rice), ect....

What have some of you done to make your car more visually pleasing to you short of body kits. Pictures would be great.

Well, the most effective mod you can put on your car to change the overall appearance (besides bodykits) is a new set of wheels & suspension that will give your car a nice stance thus improving on performance as well. Other than that, I'd say a good tint, changing the OEM antenna to a smaller one such as the S2K, aftermarket grille such as the T-Rex, clearcorners, Taillight Overlays (tint), & swapping out the OEM badges for the ones from Courtesy would be a good "subtle" change. The only body mod I would say that would fall as "subtle" is maybe the Veilside V1 lip (or similar) & maybe a slightly more aggressive spoiler such as the Data Systems, Vertex, Central 20, Blitz, or similar. Happy modding!

Start by getting rid of the rear wiper. For about $300 you can get the antenna shaved. Toss the front orange reflectors and replace with clear or black depending on your taste. Just a few cheap ideas that help smooth out the car. Everybody seems to run out and get a body kit, sometimes they miss the obvious.

For another subtle mod, I'd suggest going with Are's LED sidemarker setup. I have the white JDM markers on my Redline coupe and they have three alternating amber LEDs behind them wired to the turn signals, with another three linked to the parking lights.

Not a huge light show, but I love seeing what a difference they make every time I get into my Z!

You claim this and then mention putting stickers and badges of stuff you don't own have... IMO stay away from anything you put on your car with adhesive except for maybe some some brows for your lights...

I really like this look, as I've done it on my car as well. I didn't use the carbon piece though (didn't even know it existed at the time), I just had the grill and the middle piece where the carbon finisher goes painted gloss black. Looks really good on the redline.

what i did was clear reflectors, tint my windows, and an s2k antenna for subtile mods.

other things short of a body kit include: front lip, cf b-pillar cover, all the badges, modding door handles (shave/paint), led lighting (such as 06 taillights), and more pricey stuff like side mirrors, small spoiler, etc.

the possibilities for subtle mods are plentyful

Thanks for all the ideas guys. I really like the idea of a front lip, an S2k antenna, tint, and possibly a spoiler.... if I can find one I like. BTW, I have a 2006 Lemans Sunset without the aero package so I don't have a spoiler to start with.

I don't know if changing the reflectors will work on my car because of the color.... I look into it though.

As for the rear wiper.... I live in Washington and use it literally every day, so that will stay.

Some rims will come this summer and I don't know if lowering will be an option simply because the car is a daily driver and I don't want to deal with that in a daily driver.

What is the deal with the smoked rear tails? Is that a DIY job or what?
