May I ask what is the main function of hood pin??

I think the hood pins don't look that "ugly" in my view... I will go for it if it is for safely..

are you serious?

The function is to keep your hood attached to the car. The safety issue is that sometimes if the latch breaks, or for other reasons, your hood could fly up or off while you are driving... this has also been known to break windsheilds.

yes, i have em. 14 24.14%
no, none for me. 44 75.86%

these poll results are actually very.. suprising. I can not believe that you all are risking a $30K plus car... over a part that costs <$100.

Will do. BTW, you are right, the hole will be quite big. You can go from conventional pins to the aerocatch - but no return to normal pins - the holes will be too big.

Also, I think people avoid the use of pins because they are ugly and many posers use them or used to. I like the looks of the aerocatch as it will be a somewhat cleaner look.

+1. I'd prefer to not have them but safety first. Plus I finally painted my TS hood so the pins don't stand out as much on my CS.

Dude,
You know me, it is not the cost of the pins that has me saying no, I really do not like the look of the pins. Most of them look cheap and cheesy. I understand safety and all that, but unless it looks like the hood is cheap, I am not inclined.

I will give the new hood a few test runs and see if there is anything fishy about it. If I think it needs pins I will buy the ones Kelly found.

Yes, clears both. It's snug but doesn't push the hood up (or bend it) when it's latched.

I have a Seibon TS and just got my Top Secret hidden hood pins the other day. All that you see on the outside is a plate about 1/16" thick. If you want to take a look at them go to Bulletproofautomotive.com and look under the 350z category. They are super light and really nice. Mine even came with locks.
