Recomended by Nissan when installing the Nismo Rear Deck Spoiler are the upgraded shocks ($340.00 including install at dealer). A BIG WASTE OF MONEY. Problem solved for 2 weeks or so, and then back. I removed the weight from the hatch and problem solved for 6 months so far.

Can someone please post on the proper way to remove the plastic cover to access the weight assembly? I tried to access the weight yesterday, it was cold and I didn't want to crack or force the cover.

You have to force it. There are 8 clips that you will need to pop. It is not hard once you get the first two. Here are directions from Courtesy Nissan. This is for mounting an OEM spoiler so ignore the rest but it does show how to remove the cover.
Good luck

im having the same trouble also, with my trunk. You can go to a hardware store and buy those clamps that fits into the shocks. It doesnt look so bad and its easy to put on and off.
