Default My review of Headlight Armors' lens covers

So at first, I ordered the slightly tinted tail light covers for my '06 Z. Got them in two days and put them on the very next night. As my friend and I were installing them, we noticed the covers did not completely cover the whole tail light. I'm not really talking about the part of the tail light you can see only when the hatch is open, but there were parts you could see with the hatch closed. They weren't huge spots, but they were there and they were noticable. Also, the directions say to use the plastic squeege tool to get any air bubbles out of the covers. After using the tool (which left scratches), I attempted to apply some wax (per instructions) to the covers which was supposed to get rid of the scratches. Well guess what...the scratches were still there. Not so much if there wasn;t any direct light hitting them, but since we were in my buddies well lit garage, I could still see every little scratch (and there were a lot).

I took the covers back off and sent them back to the company the following day due to the fact the covers did not cover the whole tail light, and overall, I thought the fit and finish were not as the company had described.

After about a week and a half of not hearing anything, I finally receive an e-mail from someone there stating that they will not issue a refund, but will credit me for a "do-over" as they called it. Well, I wasn't too happy with this, but I guess I didn't have a choice. I decided to try the front reflector lens covers and the reverse light lens covers in the darkest tint available.

Once again, I get the package in two days. I immediately install the reverse covers. Fitment was pretty good with these...but after having them on for about a day, I ripped them off because it made the rear of the car look cheap somehow. I guess the covers stood out too much. Now on to the front covers...

I was originally going to paint the orange reflectors the same color as the car, but since I was getting these covers for free, I thought I might be able to save some money and just put these on instead. Unfortunately, these were the only covers I was able to take a picture of. Once again, these do not cover the entire reflector, which does not make sense to me. You can still clearly see orange on both sides. Why in the hell would I want to only cover the middle section?

So in closing, if you order these lens covers, be prepared to be disappointed with the fitment. The compay will not give you a refund and will only send you other poor fitting covers. Maybe it's not the same for everyone, but I'm 2 for 2. I guess this goes to show you get what you pay for.

try ordering from bluebatmobile. he has good overlays that fit a lot better than the ones in the pics. he is also very easy to deal with in case something isn't up to your standards.

Looks like they sent you reflector covers for the '03-'05 cars; they are bigger on '06 cars. They may not even know this and might not have overlays for the '06 reflectors yet.

I think I'm just gonna pay the $25 and get the reflectors color matched.

Ghey customer service and overpriced junk.....you should have got Bat's overlays and he helps you anyway he can if you have a problem. Also that company sell them twice as much as Bat's product and I don't see a difference.....

well then its not really all Headlight Armor's fault. its partially yours for not specifying that you had an '06. and theirs for not asking

They tried to make things right by sending you replacements (just for the wrong model )

yeah... those are for 2003-2005

not 2006...

Im not aware of anyone having a cut yet...

Our manufacturer for overlays just got a set of 2006 side markers from us to make a template out of... so they will be availble soon...

in the mean time, ive been selling my 06 customers a uncut sheet...
