Default Easy way to reattach rear turn signal light without removing bumper...

Hey guys,
Need some advise/help here. Some a-hole backed into my bumper Saturday morning, then fled. It took me about 30 secs to respond to my car alarm but they took off real quick. There's no real damage. Some scuff marks I was able to buff out, and a turn signal that was popped out of place. I can see the fastening clip that needs to be reattached to the bumper, but can't reach it externally. I've done a "search", but can't seem to find any threads that describe an easy way to re-fasten the turn signal housing, without removing the rear bumper. Can someone please shed some light on the issue. Any help is appreciated.

Looks like I just found a thread with some info. It appears that I can remove 3 bolts to remove the rear upper tail light. Once removed, there is access to the lower turn signal. Am I correct? Are the 3 bolts accessible from inside the trunk?

I've taken my rear bumper off twice and it was a PITA...much hard than the front bumper. If memory serves there are two screws that hold on the rear signal (one on each end). The problem is that you cant just loosen a few of the bolts and get it to flex enough to get your hand in there. Taking the taillights out is a 30 second process but im 99% sure you couldnt get your hand in there to get to the signals screws. You can see it and touch it, but itll laugh right back at you to get the screws in reach. I honestly was going to try some custom LED stuff on the rear signals for some time now and have been avioding it bacause I didnt want to take that damn bumper off and on again. I have the service manual in zip format if you guys want the excerpt for removal.

The section of the service manual describing rear bumper removal was so bad that I decided to do a DIY with pictures on it. Most people say that it now takes them ~20 minutes to remove it. You can view it HERE.

It's all about the proper tools. Have you tried a socket wrench that has an extender and then on the end it also swivels?

Default Thank You

I want to Thank Anyone2U for a great post. I was able to remove my rear bumper and replace the turn signal housing in under an hour. Its really rather simple when you have the knowledge and great photos to go along with it. I can't thank you enough. The dealership wanted almost $400. I did it for $63. KUDOS for a great DIY.

The hard part is those stupid white plastic things that you have to turn like 1/4 turn or some BS...why couldn't they just use a ****ing bolt!? And trying to line up the rails to put it back on is a PITA too.
