Default Carbon Fiber Spoiler

OK guys, give me a shout. I bought a Carbon Fiber Spoiler on Ebay:
Check link.
No hardware. I called and they say use double sided tape. What gives, should I even bother. Any similar installs, suggestions.

I just don't think it will hold.

Thanks

I think it should hold with some really good tape (3M or equivalent), but needs to be thin tape so it doesn't look bulged up.

They say (in a couple places) it comes with hardware on the eBay page--how come you didn't get any?

Make sure to get some 3M brand from a professional automotive distributor like Carquest and you will likely never get it off.

+1 on the fitment question?

Default Hardware

Yeah, I'm getting ready to tell them to edit their ad, coz saying that it has hardware can be decieving.

Thanks guys, I'm off looking for tape.

can you post some pictures of your spoiler? I want to see if the CF weave on yours look as good as the pictures in their listing.

The factory spoiler is held on by 3m tape, and 2 10mm bolts, the bolts are useless, I removed them and almost destroyed it trying to get past that 3m tape, the tape will hold it.

Default Can find abstrakt post

I can't find the abstrakt post. You said easy fix, I think I'm going to have a gap problem on the ends. I have not installed it yet, but I don't think it's going to be easy. The center part lays flat on the trunk, but the end edges bend up. I really don't think the best tape in the world will hold the edges down.

I spent a total of $100, so got to give it a shot.

I will post pics when I'm done.

Default Installed, Not Good

Went to Home Depot and bought a good 3m brand tape. I installed the spoiler. I knew from looking at it before hand that the edges of the spoiler will not hold. The edges tend to have about a 1/4 contour upwards. In a nutshell, it really does not look all that great. There isn't any tape that will hold down the edges. Though, the spoiler is on and will not go anywhere. I will try some Black RTV to make it look better. If not, I will dump it and try the one from AutoTecknic.

Thanks for the feedback.
