Default How much is everyone paying for their clear bra?

I just made an appointment for tomorrow and I was quoted $695 before tax. They will be applying the film on my front bumper, hood, side view mirrors, fenders and door edges. This is warrantied for 5 years. Is this a decent deal? Or am I getting ripped!?

Edit: Oh yah, and my headlights too!

I paid around $800.00 last spring and had the headlights covered too. Apply some good wax to the bra and you can practically hose the bugs off.

Wow! Thanks for the tip! I'll be waxing my car as soon as I get it back.

The X-Pel Dealers uses 3M film... but he said that there is NOT a clear coat on the film. I thought all 3M films had a clear coat on it. No?

I paid around $800 for the full kit. Money well spent without a doubt.

I assume you guys paid $800 for the material AND installation, right?

I bought mine off of ebay quite sometime back, but I have not had it installed yet (defeats the purpose, right?) I believe it cost me about $250, and it was 3M! I bought film for headlights, front bumper, mirrors, and front lip of hood! I obviously paid considerably less than every else here. I am not sure if I got a piece of crap or if you guys just paid more since you bought directly through the shop.

What do you guys think? The material I have seems high quality and has "3M" all over it.

since were in the topic of clear bras, does this affect the color of the car in any way or when you wax the car? for example a car w/o clear bra waxed and one with clear bra waxed? any difference the way the light reflects off of it?

No. You can wax right over it. You can't see my clear bra unless you really look for it and from the right angle. You can wax right over the bra and as mentioned before everything comes off of it very easy. I paid $600 for my kit, hood, lights, fenders, bumper, mirrors, and splash guards. I would have paid $800 though, it is very much worth the money when done right. Here are some pictures...can you see the clear bra??

Here is one from just the right angle ( I had to try a few times) so you can see it...

I also just did the bumper plugs over the clear bra to fill the holes up front and it looks days better.

when my new G arrived (took about a week), i looked it over with the dealer and found some bullsh1t things to nit pick about, and got him to pay for my clear bra. This was after i negotiated the price of the G down by a few thousand (i paid like 32k) and after he gave me more on my trade in than anyone else would.

Nice Photos!!! When you wax over that clear bra, does some of the wax get stuck in the line across your hood? How this is the film?

Thanks! The wax can get stuck in the line, but just like with any other line, it comes right off when you detail it. I just use my fingernail and the microfiber cloth and it comes out just like on any other crack. I actually use a specific plastic cleaner on the bra in between waxes and maybe once every two weeks. It keeps it cleaner and dirt and bugs slide right off it.
I have actaully had people stand in front of my car and look for the clear bra and can't find it untill I show them the angle from the side.

Default Clear Bra Envisage Design Labs is the way to go!

Hey Guys, I got my clear bra installed almost Immediately after I bought the Car at Performance. I went to Envisage Design Labs in Torrance. I got the front Bumper and Front Tail Lights done there for just over $250, Plus they gave my a further discount because I service their computers. They computer Cut all their installations, specially on the Z, so you'll get the perfect fit every time. They work on Noble's, Ferraris, and Lambo's every day, so you know they do good work.
I went a couple months later to have my smoked taillights and turn signals installed, which I ordered from Performance Nissan, and they did it for around 65 Bucks, They did a great job, and even pointed out a minor non noticeable flaw in my passenger side taillight material. apparently Aerotect, formerly Aeroshield, the suppliers of the material to Performance, Hand cut the Tail Light kits and cut one my layover sheets wrong, I meant to call them on it, but I let time pass, now I have to order another one. So if you order the kit from Performance Nissan, make sure you check it thoroughly for flaws, or have your installer check it prior to the installtion, so you can make an exchange.
I'm gonna try and call Envisage sometime this week and ask them if they are able to computer cut the tail lights yet. I'll keep you poster.

I forget to mention that I called 3M about their product before I had it installed on my Chrome Silver Z and I was cautioned by 3M that there are certain colors that don't look great after the clear bra is installed. I'm sorry I don't remember what the manufacturer told me. I just remember that Silver was OK to cover without changing or distorting the paint color. I have noticed though that in certain light, the bra is much more apparant.
