Why are the floor mats in the 06 different? they are made out of this thin cheapo material, different from the other years. I prefer the old plush mats that come with the 03-05s. Im sure they are a direct swap, so finding an old set should be easy.

the 05s and then the ugly 06s. it looks like the cut outs on the bottom are different....i dont see why, since the interior is the same

 

take that 300hp MREV...we have better floor mats.

 

the 03-05 mats , yea they dont like having shoes on them... since your shoes cut into the carpet and after awhile you have two little spots where you stick your feet... i like my 06 mats

besides the new mats are easy to clean... pull from car... hold in air... and smack it with your hand and BOOM clean!

 

I agree they blow hard.

Glad I had my nismo's when I got the Z wayyyy nicer.

Check out my thread about the 03-05 mats.....the 06 dont look good online kinda, I didnt think I would like them, but in the car they are 300% better, believe me, I calculated it....

 

I like those '05's a lot!!! Too bad they had to go and fug 'em up for '06.

Wow.. I thought my 2003 floor mats were crap and falling apart. The 2003 mats does not have rubber reinforcement in the heel area (as opposed to the later designs).

Check these out. Made from coconut husk. Not sure if it will last longer. But something different from other Zs.

 

wait, so the '05 mats have the rubber piece like the '06?

 

Some 05 mats come with the rubber, all the 06 mats come with rubber, when I bought my 05 base, I didnt have the rubber and my heels wore through the mat. I don't know what you guys are smokin thinking the 06 mats are ugly, they are sweet, especially since the rubber matches the carpet and doesnt stick out like a sore thumb.

BTW, I think the 06 material is stronger and will last longer then the previous years, I dont remember the old mats being plush, lol, softer then the 06 yes, but then this happens....

I don't like the look of the new mats but hopefully the quality is better. In my '03 I was shaking out my mats and they almost ripped in half. I have a huge tear halfway across the passenger's mat and the top section of the driver's mat completlely ripped off. Very poor quality. They are super thin and very cheaply made. Right in line with Nissan's quality standards.
