Lightbulb Vertex Half Kit Quality Replica

Well since Im always looking out for my fellow 350z owners I thought I would post some information for you guys looking to save some money on the vertex kit (or the half kit more appropriately).

Now the company is called Shine Auto (or shine auto project) and they are located here in Southern California. They offer what they call a Hybrid FRP model of the vertex half kit and the prices are as follows...

Front Add-on Lip: $260.00
Sideskirts: $275.00
Rear Add-on Lip: $260.00

And here is the company's information. The website it underconstruction right now and I do not know when it will be back up, but nevertheless i have supplied a url.

Safari Business Center
1916 S. Lynx Place
Ontario, California 91761

URL: www.shineautoproject.com

Ebay link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/JDM-N...42886180QQrdZ1

Now for those of you who are body kit materials uber noobs heres a little breakdown (layman style): The top quality you can purchase is Polyurethane, this stuff is strong, flexible, a little bit heavier than CF of Fiberglass. Poly is usually used on the authentic kits and it is very resiliant stuff, but unfortunately it costs allot due to the casting methods and such. The good thing about it is that it is not waivey (unlike fiberglass which is hand layed so you get this wave effect thoughout the piece). You also do not have to worry about bubbles in which you do get with fiberglass (or at least low end fiberglass molds) and usually prep for poly involves some light scuffing, primer, base coat and lastly clear.

Now this Hybrid FRP stuff looks to be really good quality (from what I can see in the pictures). For those of you who do not know FRP stands for Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic. Which means you get the flexibility and smoothness of a plastic, but the time and cost of producing fiberglass, which is a good thing since they do not have to charge nearly the same amount for the finished product, hence YOU the consumer get it for cheaper. THe only thing really left to worry about is the fitment. This to me seems to be very good if not excellent according to testimony of the company itself and even by users on this site (10 TILL 4, etc).

I have compiled some pictures of the kit from their ebay auction and you can also find 10 TILL 4's thread where he has pics of the sideskirts and rear lip.

Some Pictures showing the Flexibility.

And some pictures of the product painted & installed..

And on 10 TILL 4's car..

Some closing words..

The quality and fitment looks to be very good and the pics seem to justify these assertions. Im not here to diss authentic, as I myself have an authentic vertex kit on my car right now and quite honestly couldnt be happier with its fitment and quality. But I DO KNOW that many of my fellow modders are looking to save some money and here is an instance where I think those of you who are looking for a quality product that wont kill you on prep and paint fees. Now I DO NOT have this kit, so I can only tell you what I ASSUME and THINK to be. So if anyone does get this kit in the future, be sure to post up your experience for the rest of us!

Hope this information is usefull. Mod on!

Regards,

-Bryan-

Expect Central 20 complete kit to be out very soon from this company too. Hopefully they will become a "Sponsor" for this site in order for them to advertise here.

OT issue. On your website, you might want to add a blank index.htm file since right now, they show all of your directories.

Man these replica companies are getting better and better. I might just sell my real Vertex kit when it arrives. Any word if that company is making a replica of the FUll Vertex kit?

Wow! That is pretty nice especially since it's made of PU. If they come out with a full front bumper, I might buy one for back-up for my authentic bumper .

Thanks bro but I may sit on this for now. I don't really need it since I already have an authentic & I'd rather spend my money on getting new wheels from him instead . I was just considering one for backup.

i've seen the kit in person, a member with an '06 actually managed to fit the front lip (the rest of the kit obviously fits no problem). Check the photo share section. The kit look top notch and for the price, it's a steal.

Hmmmm, although they probably make a pretty good product it pisses me off when people make knockoffs of stuff that companies spent a lot of money for R & D.
