Question Painting Headlight

OK... This is the shot which I like the best among all sort of Z pictures. Like this Z, I want to paint my Redline Z's headlight. Inside of the headlight to be exact.

Can somebody give me any info about that?
What sorta paint do I have to use or, anything helpful.

Thanks in advance

Im not to sure you can get that effect with paint. I think you would be better off tinting the outside of the lamp yellow.

If you did want to paint the mirror part inside, (I have never done this to a Z)

You you would have to remove the entire light enclosure from your car heat, it up in the oven to soften the glue, Pull it apart. Remove the mirror piece. Rub it with steel wool real good then paint it with high temp spray paint.

AS good as it looks,..on the Z I think its more trouble then its worth!!!
All the RSX guys are doing it to their RSX's,..I juts bought the JDM ones---but untill Nissan comes out w/ a Blk house headlight,...You will probably ruin them,..but if for some reason you get it done,..TELL US HOW!!!!

That was the first thing I thought the Z REALLY NEEDED!! Blk house lamps! It would look killer,..but I guess not,..they whould oprobably already be on the JDM Z33---SUx,..but true!

they blacked out the whole thing, but I would think youd need parts of them to remain reflective for function(the RSX keeps the actualy lens area reflective)

but then again, those arent painted, they are carbon fiber. I wish I could buy them. probably be 2 or 300$, but itd be well worth it.

Of course, RSX's headlight should have some reflective concave mirror to concentrate light because it is not 'project type HID'.

As you can see from the pics, 350's light system has a convex lens attached in front of HID bulb and does not really use any other area of headlight.

I think the best bet is D.I.Y. Here I go!

only the low beam is HID projector, the high beams are still halogen(have to be since HID has to "warm up")

stupid question: couldn't you get that exact look by just "tinting" the lens cover? If a good job is done, I don't think you'd ever see any imperfections...or is the heat too high for that idea?

Remember if the headlights aren't sealed properly after taking them apart you get fogging + risk of water intrusion and blown HID ballasts.

yeah you could tint them, but then youd certainly have impaired headlight function, which matters to some(me included). also thats illegal, while painting them is not.

Good point...I just thought you could use a light tint while still accomplishing the goal and use a brighter light to compensate. I didn't think about the legality thing...small issue

yeah legal issue is not a real hang up for me either, Im already illegal on my tint, why not expand it? but I do like bright headlights, Im blind enough as it is with all the SUV lights aimed right at my eyes for not being 10feet above the concrete.
