its not what you're thinking about so get your mind out of the gutter. I'm buying some OEM power/leather seats to put in my base Z and I had some questions for you folks. I've done the search thing and found very little.

1. what are the dimensions of the OEM leather seats and is it possible to fit them in my Z to transport them back home?

2. what voltage do the motors for the power seats draw and is there a source that I can tap into without having to go directly to the battery (i.e. the cigarette lighter)?

Thanks in advance.

I would think that a dealership would be able to get you a factory wiring harness. The seats aren't very bulky, but I doubt you'll get both in the trunk. To get them both in, you will probably need to remove your current passenger seat, so you can stage the new one in place, and the other should fit either in the back or upside down in the passenger seat. It depends on how tall the mounts are. Take lots of towels and blankets for wrappings.

What's going to suck most, is that unlike manual seats, you wont be able to adjust the back to fit in like you want, unless you can find some way to get them powered up.

thanks. however I don't know what good buying a factory harness would do since only the touring model Z would have the wiring to hook up the harness to (as I understand it). also I don't would work to remove the passenger seat to make space due to the fact that I have airbags which means that if I remove the seat and turn on the car I will end up with an SRS light/code (which can only be cleared by the dealer).

as I understand it, he said to buy the harness, which is just one part of the setup that the touring model Z's are equiped with so that the power seats are plug and play. I would assume that on the touring model this harness also has additional wires which are routed to a circuit on the touring model fuse box which give the seats both power and remote turn on. if this is correct, then what he suggested will not fix my problem.

you can turn off that srs light/code. i unplugged my seats and then had that code thing come on. after a few months of driving around with that blinking light, i found a post showing you how to turn it off. it only takes a minute. sorry, i don't have the link though.
