We just found out last week that our cars (in Australia) will have the smoked reflectors as standard (which is weird when you consider smoked lights and reflectors are illegal here). That was a surprise to everyone.

Given the US to AU $ conversion it may be worth looking at the Aussie market as a source. Keep in mind that the cars only started hitting the street last week here so parts won't be reasily available yet.

Just thought I'd share.

well we paid 47.95 to get them shipped from tokyo. I dont consider it unreasonable since the clear reflectors are over 50+shipping. not sure how courtesy can sell them for so little. how much do the regular amber ones cost? something seems funny there.

anyway, mine are waiting at home, and LEDs are in the mail, if the LEDs come tomarrow or sat I will install and take pictures of it.

I was thinking about changing that to the clear one before we aussies saw the car.... since we never got to see the car in the show room before our deliveries! Luckily we got the smoke reflectors straight from Japan.. wondering to know why does the US version has the orange one instead? due to the road legal issue in the States??

that wouldnt suprise me at all. tho perhaps nissans just real smart. make an american version just a bit less cool, then couple that with americans love for unique peices and now their selling there own JDM stuff to americans to replace a part they already had.

not a bad marketing strategy.

Japan and other countries get a black housing for headlights nto a shinny silver one like USA cars do. If you look at the picture above from the guy in Aus you can see that. I also was curious about the parts number for the reflector you have?

thanks,
Greg

Ok dude, if you look at that pic and then go look at yours (if you own one) then you will see they are obviously teh same. The frontal area is painted black but teh entire assembly is chrome beyond that front section. No special "black" headlamps in Japan or Australia....

Ok, U.S. guys, if you preorder them from Courtesy Nissan before they become a stock item you will get them for $23.84 shipped UPS out the door. I just got off the phone from making my order for a set and the $16.33 price IS the actual price (NO TYPO). That will be valid for the preorders until they receive their shipment. They should be getting shipped out in about 3 - 5 weeks. If you want to guarantee a set for this price, dont wait, they will definitely be going up in price once they become a stocked item at Courtesy Nissan. Or if you prefer to have somewhat instant gratification you can always pay twice as much and have them in about a week from the "other guys". I guess its a matter of personal opinion, but to me, a few weeks wait to save about 30 bucks is a fair deal.

Just a heads up to all who want these amazing looking (and totally illegal) corner markers!

Im a bit confused how they are illegal tho. they are still reflective, so there is absolutely no difference....

anyway, my LEDs are here, and the side markers, so tomarrow is installation day. hopefully I can finish it, wash the car, and give her a coat of wax, then move onto a nice photoshoot on sunday.

at which time you can all see them in their glory.

any requested angles or positions they want a photo of? Ill do my best to remember to take it.

Im not sure on every single states exact laws regarding them, but in Illinois, your actual front reflectors (The front lower ones on our cars) MUST be "visibly" amber from any standpoint. These however look black from a majority of positions when looking at them when there is no reflection off of them. They do reflect amber which would save us at night, but during the daytime they are definitely not legal by visibility alone.

I believe the law is a bit unspecific, I can think of a few cars which have no reflector down there at all. but instead have it in their headlight, which the Z still has(the turn signal).

owell, doesnt matter, not gonna start worrying about doing illegal things now.

Yea, thats my feelings exactly, i dont give a rats *** if its illegal or not, i want the smoked ones since i LOVE the way they look, besides i dont have my front plate on either (Also illegal in Illinois) and i will be having 35% front tints installed in the spring along with 15% around the back 3 (also illegal in Illinois, NO non-factory tint allowed on front 3 windows).

Im just tryin to give a shout out to those who are concerned.

Yea, we do have the amber reflectors in the headlights, but i wasnt saying that the corner markers make the car illegal, just they themselves are technically illegal to have on the vehicle in Illinois. (I had a lot of illegal stuff on my last car and got questioned all the time by the 5-0 so i have a pretty good idea this time around what to be careful of do's and dont's)

But yea, i think that this price is a steal compared to buying the cleared ones and they will still be acceptable at night when they actually perform their intended purpose.

Omega350z.................. I own a Z. My z has been sitting in the grage since the day I brought it home with a cover over it. I live in New England so the Z only sees the road 6months of the year. Plus my Z will also never see rain. It is just used on perfect days.

thanks,
Greg

I preordered mine from Courtesy Parts a while ago, along with a FairladyZ emblem. I'm hoping there isn't some special catch since they are so cheap, since I plan on ordering a few more things from them when I get this stuff in.

When you get the fairlady z emblem, let us know (it says they are on national backorder). I have seen the same emblem on other web sites for 49.95, which is TOO much for my taste for an emblem.

As for the sidemarkers, other than the hassle to put them in, they are BEAUTIFUL and of same quality as oem (same stampings, nissan part, fit is the exact same, etc.) If you want a smoked sidemarker, there is no catch... THEY ARE BEAUTIFUL (I am going to post pics soon... just have to upload them.... look here tomorrow or Monday.)
