Bodyshop Did Nismo Spoiler Install Wrong... What To Do? **Pics**
I got my Nismo spoiler replica in the mail the other day and had it installed yesterday. It wasn't until I got to my GF's last night and I looked at some other 350z's that i noticed they didn't quite place mine correctly. The spoilers are normally placed upon the edge of the trunk, but they moved mine back about 2 finger lengths (see in pics). I sorta want to call them and tell them but iono. Would i have to pay extra for them to fix this or is this their bad for doing a install wrong and creating a bad template? Or should i just keep this because its minimal and looks fine?
they did do the clear corner install nicely though

That absolutely does not look right. Take it back and have them move it back to the edge man. It doesn't look like a spoiler and it sure doesn't blend in with the lines of the Z. Good luck
I assume the dealer didn't do it, just a regular body shop? Does it have instructions on where to place the spoiler? I'm not very familiar on the exact placement of the spoiler but unless they knew due to instructions or unless you told them exactly where to place it, they won't fix it for free.

+1 , they will have to fill in the holes and it wont look right. sorry for you bad luck it looks cheap. Take it back and print a copy of how it should look but good luck. It looks bad (sorry) but it is the truth.
They'll need to fix that for free. They did it wrong...no question about it. They'll need to fill the extra 5 holes they put in your hatch and repaint the whole thing. That sucks man. Sorry to hear/see this.
Look inside your hatch and check if they made the holes (where the bolts go in) any bigger or if they made new holes. These holes are just big enough for the bolts to fit and I couldn't imagine how the body shop installed the spoiler without making any new holes inside the hatch.

I agree with most of the people here, I would take it back and have them install it correctly. THey might try to weasle out and say there were no istructions (I don't know if there were or not) but atleast see what they say, it is worth a shot.
If anything get a discount on your job if you can live with it, if you really want them to fix it, then push them for that.
How did you pay? Cash, credit card? If you really wanted to, you can always dispute with your credit card company (use as a last option and let the bodyshop know you will take it that far if you nee to).
Good luck, keep us posted!

Hmmm... Depending on if the holes (new) will be covered by the wing if moved back to the edge i would vote for that. You shouldnt have to pay for that!
If the bolts wont be covered, ill guess youll have to live with it, not a disaster though.
