Default Horrid '03 *****

The AC, vent, air ***** on my 03 are all grey and cheap looking. I went to the NYIAS and saw the 06. It has nice silver metal *****, and some nicer materials used in the whole radio/gauge cluster/center console area. I'll never get a first year car again.

Has anyone tried to replace the old materials and ***** with the '06 materials and *****?

You cannot swap the 06 ***** into the 03-05 *****. It is just not a cosmetic change, there is a hardware change underneath. I believe you also have to get a new centre as well.

Well it CAN be done... just a matter of what you're willing to do

I say go for it man. Could be a fun project.

I just don't get how they didn't have the sense enough to figure out that it looked ****ty in the first place. Believe it or not, it's one of the first comments I made after I bought the car. I got an RSX-S as a first year car, told myself I wouldn't do that again, then traded it in to get the 350z a couple months after it came out. Never again.

Some people are not concern about *****. I for one don't think the 03 are "horrid". Yes, the 06 **** is very nice and nicer then the 03. But I do not think the 03 are horrid. But then again, I don't make a decision on buying a car base on a ****.

I obviously didn't base my decision on a **** either. I was merely expressing my opinion on the issue of the quality of the center console/*****/etc. and wondering why they thought the quality was acceptable at that time.

The focal point of this thread was that they always make improvements on first year cars, hence not making it worth it to buy them :P

<sarcasm>
Thanks for the constructive contribution!

the problem is that they sale the car in base form for mid $20's. They are going to make sacrafices to obtain the price point that they have for the car. The base is a hell of deal and a great bang for the buck, but once you go up in packages and price, the interior starts looking cheaper with the more money you spend...

i believe the performance nissan parts folks already tried hooking up the harnesses with the '06 climate control ***** onto pre-06's and they did NOT work, the wiring is totally mismatched around in the '06 compared to the pre-'06 cars, meaning there is more than just cosmetic and mechanical swapping, the electronics are changed now too for the 06

I think my comment about the 03 **** not being horrid is just as constructive a contribution as your comment on them being horrid.
</sarcasm>

And your comment of them thinking the quality was acceptable at the time is how life works. three years ago, I thought the Prelude was one sexy car, but just three years have passed and I think they look "horrid". Three years ago, a 17' screen was a pretty big monitor to me, now three years later, I cannot stand anything lower then a 19' screen. Three years ago, a 5 megapixil camera was bliss, now, three years later, I will only buy a 7.1 megapixil digital camera.

Go ahead and complain all you want, I actually like it when people complain about things, that leads to improvements. Which ironically, Nissan did to their *****...

But to accuse somebody's statement that they don't agree with what you think is "horrid" does not make the statement less of a contribution then yours.

Seriously, -1 for reading comprehension on your part. I complained about the ***** right when I purchased the car. Not 3 years later. If you read through the whole thread you would see that.

My second post in this thread:
I just don't get how they didn't have the sense enough to figure out that it looked ****ty in the first place. Believe it or not, it's one of the first comments I made after I bought the car. I got an RSX-S as a first year car, told myself I wouldn't do that again, then traded it in to get the 350z a couple months after it came out. Never again.
That pretty much renders your whole "3 years later" explanation IRRELEVANT.

my complaint about your contribution to the thread had nothing to do with you disagreeing with me, but apparently you don't know how to read between the lines. I was unhappy with your contribution because it lacked ZERO SUBSTANCE.

Some people are not concern about *****. I for one don't think the 03 are "horrid". Yes, the 06 **** is very nice and nicer then the 03. But I do not think the 03 are horrid. But then again, I don't make a decision on buying a car base on a ****."
My comment was mostly directed toward your statement in bold. In other words, WHO THE HELL BUYS A CAR BECAUSE OF THE *****? That was a worthless contribution, and it seemed you didn't even read my first two posts.

I really hate having to explain things semantically. It seems you're very good at misinterpreting things that should be relatively straightforward.

EDIT: Added "quote" modifiers

lack ZERO SUBSTANCE eh? so youre saying you wanted it to have ZERO SUBSTANCE? wouldnt you want it to have substance? then wouldnt you say, lacked ANY SUBSTANCE WHATSOEVER? maybe your command on the english language isnt as perfect as you think it is...

resuming neutral position on the *****...NOW!

Thank you for helping me understand what the concept of zero is. It was clearly used as slang in that sentence, just in case you couldn't figure that out

EDIT: I "zero" as slang alot, actually. Just as I use the word "delete" in conversation also, as in "I'm going to delete your face". Slang is very easy to differentiate if you're not half retarded Slang also has no bearing on my command of the english language.

I wouldn't go around being all high and mighty on your reading comprehension. My first comment showed that I as well as other people thought at the time that the 03 ***** were "new" and "hot" in order to show that some people including Nissan at the time thought the **** looked "new" and "hot" and just because YOU think they are horrid from the start did not mean that Nissan or other people thought they were horrid in 03.

Again, you shouldn't talk about me and reading comprehension. My second comment was a rebuttal to your original statement: and wondering why they thought the quality was acceptable at that time. Like I stated, Back then, Nissan and obviously other people thought the ***** where "new and "hot". And just because YOU thought they were horrid at the time, does not mean that Nissan and other people thought they were horrid in 03.

You would be surprised how picky some people are, and I don't presume anything of how people pick out things. I choose not to presume how you purchase a car so I stated that I wouldn't pick a car because of *****. That doesn't mean I would't choose a car because of paint colours available or if the car didn't come with HID lights.
