These are the NRG hood dampers I bought from sundeviljay. The install is very easy - took 5 minutes. However, there are a few things you need to know if you plan on installing these.
1. The ABS brake module under the brake cover may prevent the hood from closing w/o it bulging. The reason for this is that on some Z's the ABS brake module was installed by the factory in an orientation that may not let the damper to fit between the piping when the hood closes.
2. If you plan on keeping the brake and battery covers, be prepared to make some modifications to them. If you look closely at the pics, you'll see that the brake cover side has a groove molded into it for the damper to fit in. The battery cover side didn't need a groove, it was resectioned and glued back together so that it layed lower than stock to accomodate the damper.
I gotta give credit to Randy Riggs for the excellent work he did on the covers to make these dampers fit and have the hood not bulge when closed. Let me tell you it took him alot of fitting, Dremelling, gluing, bondo and sanding to make these covers look stock. It came out great once it finally got painted. Finally, the pics (I took these while waiting almost 2hrs to stage at the West Coast Z Nationals)...

How high do you have to lift the hood before the shocks take over and lift the rest of the way?
Can you "drop" the hood from ~1 foot to shut it? (What I normally do)
Looks great! I think I saw some of these at the west coast Z car meet.
