oven method doesnt work unfortunatly, atleast not in my oven. they appear to have used a plastic weld solvent to seal them up, same as the 03-05.

got mine open without breaking anything.. took a lot of elbow grease and a few razor blades along the seams to cut the sealant, then you gradually pop it off
i have included a pic of it totally taken apart for those who are curious

I still need to play around with the resistance to even the brightness out. The White LEDs are about 4x as brights as the amber ones.
I can't give my secret away. It's a special little thing of mine that I hold tender.
I'm still working on it too, so it isn't a set process just yet.

So now that i don't need your secret.. lol... how do you have the LEDs mounted behind the reflector since there's no holes in the back?

razor blades ![Embarrassment](https://my350z.com/forum/images/smilies/redface.gif)
do you have any fingers left?!?
I considered that, and quickly nixed it lol. that had to take quite a while. I also considered a scriber. nixed that one too haha. dremel did the trick for me(cutoff wheel). why am I giving away my secret? I enjoy modifying the 03-05 reflectors. their fun, they arent too time consuming. man these 06's are a PAIN!!! anyone willing to take a dremel to their 60$ reflectors is already halfway home. wiring the LEDs from there i simple.
looks to me like boogie went with a low clearance spider type LED and sandwiched them between the 1st and 2nd part in your photo. spider leds being high output would be the heat problem. the exact same problem Im running into trying to squeeze luxeons in.

problem is, as you see, theres very little space between the back and the inside reflector. you could drill through the inside reflector, place 5mm LEDs in that hole, wire it up behind it, and be on your merry way; but you wouldnt have any diffusion to it, and the reflective surface would have holes in it which would likely be noticable.
all of course, just my best guess estimate.

Ok, so what kinda LEDs then? Luxeons are too much, and have heat issues, i'll probably be getting them from superbright since they're local and i haven't had any issues.., so if you wouldn't mind perusing their site and tell me which you think will work best..

Myke: Just had to be careful that's all, i'm kinda impressed myself that i didn't break them. lol.. i just took my time and watched what i was doing.

Hah, I think that's going to be a secret too sorphin. Since I know Mike doesn't want to give away details about his own product, check this out. That's about what you'll need. The tricky part is getting em. ![Wink](https://my350z.com/forum/images/smilies/wink.gif)

I've worked-out all the bugs with the circuitry and heat dissipation.
I have one (half of a set) completely put together, sealed-up and ready to be put on a car. I should have the matching one done tomorrow.
Here's some pics.

For anyone interested in spiderleds to do this kinda thing with (if you only want white that is):
http://www.surplusled.com/Merchant2/...egory_Code=_DL
They are made by LEDtronics, but LEDtronics wants $24 for a pack of 10, so this is a deal ($2.99/pack), wish this place had the amber too
