Yup someone mentioned it....very MR2-ish.

I don't think airflow would be affected as much. Like a truck, there would be some sort of a vaccum that is formed at highspeed, allowing the air to skim right across that gap. Just an assumption.

Another benefit is you won't have to deal with a windshield wiper, even in bad weather. If only that rear window rolled down too...for us sunny weather types.

Just got an E-mail from Strosek regarding my request for info. and price quote (glad I was sitting down for this):

Thank you very much for your mail and your interest in our carbon hatch back

for the Nissan 350 Z.

We would like to offer you:

1 Carbon hatch back Euro 3.960,--

Just to give you a short explanation for the high price of the carbon hatch back – we do suffer from continuously rising raw material prices due to the effect of very limited resources. We do have an alternative with our more cost efficient fibre glass model

(price Euro 2.960,--).

Kindly let us know your next international airport and we will quote the shipping costs.
Translation:

Fiberglass hatch: $3,778.00

Carbon hatch: $5,054.00

For ***** and grins, I requested a shipping quote to Houston IAH and also inquired about what the rear window is made of and the weights of both the carbon and fiberglass versions of the hatch. We'll see what they say.

Obviously, the only viable option for 99% of Z owners in the US interested in this would be a US made replica.

thats ridiculous price.

you can MAKE a hatch mold in country for the price of ONE of those CF ones..

someone just needs to cut up a stock hatch, lay some fiberglass to make the overhang way you want it. and have someone dupe it.maybe add some p****** to it... imho i still think it looks like a delsol....

Wow I like it They need to take some pictures of it farther away from the car though. It most likely is better for Aerodynamics Strosek Windtunnel test there bosy kits.

Not yet. Still waiting on that info. along with the shipping quote and weights of the CF and FRP versions. From the pic, though, I can pretty much gaurantee the rear window is lexan.

Just got the rest of the info. I requested from Strosek this morning (original info. is quoted below):

-Shipping (to Houston): $382

-Rear window: GLASS (Obviously a change from what we see in the pic above. They did not specify if it had defroster element or not)

Weights:
-CF: 6.2 Kg (13.7 lb)
-FG: 8.2 Kg (18 lb)

Anyone know how this compares to the OEM style CF hatch weights?
