My insurance covers them for free. The place down my street will also fix them for about 25-35 bucks...

If you have to pay for a full windshield the Nissan replacement is around $800 if I remember correctly. Safety Light Auto Glass did mine for 325 with their glass. Seems exactly the same with the black dots and paint in all the right places. If you get new glass, replace the wipers too, they can get glass bits embedded in them and scratch the new glass. Most glass stores sell wipers but you can bring your own if you want and do an upgrade, like the PIAA Silicone while you are at it.

If you get to the chip soon enough, it may be reparable, after a few heat cycles though, chips tend to crack and spread so you have to do it right away.

I used them as well and they installed a PPG windshield. Appears to be the same quality at more than 1/2 the price of OEM.

Same here...I got the PPG after mine cracked (2 wks after I got the damn car). PPG is WAY better quality inmo as I've had numerous rocks hit it since with no damage...

Man I feel your pain. I was driving to the gym this morning a rock got me too. I gotta start calling folks to see how much this is going to cost me. Flipping sucks though. Just got the car 3 weeks ago.

i'm in the process of replacing my windshield. The crack in my windshield crawled from 8" to 13 " in one day due to the heat! From my research I will likely go with PPG instead of the lower quality OEM (i have no idea if there will be a big price difference). Also I found a certified PPG installer in my area from PPG's website. I have a some hesitancy going with these chains for the possible lack in service/quality. My friend went to a place his insurance suggested and the work was horrible. They had to fix it three times because they didnt seal the moldings correctly...he had a puddle of water in it when it rained.

I should look into getting mine replaced. My windshield is like a starry sky at night. I must have 2000+ little chips in it.
