Putting tint on your Z yourself.

Putting tint on your Z yourself.
Just wanted to know, Has anyone put tint on thier Z themself? I've been looking through the fourms and pretty much everyone said the highest they paid was $200, the lowest $75 which is outstanding. Put here in north carilina tint shops want $200 to $300 bucks. So, I'm really thinking about doing it myself. A couple of tint shops were nice and let me sit there and watch. And it looks simple, and I'm going out right know and get some 20% tint and play with it first then go all out.
But, I want to know those out there that has done it before, ran into any problems. Or just any info would help.

I've done my own brake change, I've taken the top plenum apart to put a spacer and gasket on, I've installed an engine dampener, I've even installed an exhaust system on a friend's car. I'm not a car guy at all, but if there is instructions, I'll try to tackle it like I did the above, BUT I would never tint a car myself.
IMHO tinting is an art. You get good at this art through many times of practicing. It's not something that if you follow instructions, it will work out perfectly. I definately recommend you get the Zed professionally tinted.
This is just my opinion.

If you in NC, contact Speedstyle, they will do it at $135.
www.speedstyles.com and print a $10 coupon to get discount so it will be $125. They use high quality 3M tint and has 10 years of experience, I did tint over there and the service, quality was topnotch.

I have done it myself and I suggest that you get it done proffesionaly. Too much crap you need to worry about such as sand in your tint! cutting your rear glass defroster lining And it should not cost you too much for 2 sidewindows and a rear window. + if you get it done proffesionaly it will look 10X better.

Honestly, putting the tints on yourself isn't as much of a horror story as everyone says. It just takes patience and paying attention to detail. My friend and I put the tints on my Z and they came out beautiful. I paid him $50 because of principle. It's not hard.

Every tint guy will tell you than every window is slightly different and that the pre-cut stuff never looks half as good as having it professionally installed.
Also, remember our windows have the little adjustment feature when you close the door and it takes some experience to be able to adjust for that.
Pay up and get it done professionally. On the bright side... it's only a coupe.

i tinted it my 350z Roadster myself, because i use to work at a tint/stereo/alarm shop... and tinting a window isnt easy but its not hard. you got to have alot of patience and the right material and under the sun... i repeat under the sun! you should knoe that.. but if this is your first time i say you practice... you tried putting overlays on your headlight etc? if you cant do that you sure cannot tint..

It's well worth the money for a professional job. It can be done for less than $ 200. That's like only 4 tanks of gas
