I'm getting my VDC kit installed right now as we speak. Best kits are the LSD kit and the VDC kit, main difference between the two is that the LSD kit has the horizontal alignment pin that keeps people from beating up your interior door panels by going vertical before clearing the A-pillar. Now in the VDC kit however, if you don't properly open your doors, pushing outward first then lifting up, then it'll scratch your door panels. Other than that, the LSD and the VDC kits are the same. Now these are butterfly doors, there is one kit out there that's a true lambo door kit and that's the GT factory kit. The doors in this kit open all the way up. The install on that thing is like $1500 or higher I believe.
but VDC and LSD would be your best bets imo.

I would say look in the "for sale" section of these boards. You'll find new and used vertical door kits all the time. As for doing it yourself, if you got the tools, space and time, why couldn't you do it yourself? I think there is still a brand new kit for sale right now for something like $750?? I think a quality kit normaly goes for around a grand if i'm not mistaken?

I believe both the LSD and the VDC go for $2000, I got my VDC used for $1500 and don't try to install it by yourself, the front bumper has to come off, the side fenders need to come off, disable wiring, dude it's a pain in the ***...So unless you have the right equipment, get it installed professionally

You might try the www.wingdoors.com mark II kit. It is bolt on universal kit and it allows your doors to go straight up and down IE 90 degrees.
