Default Question, need answer, very frustrated

Okay, my 350'z headlight lens has a scratch on it. I ordered replacement headlights. They were halogen. The plug did not fit in, the mechanics said it was a different shape, and there was a resistor there or something. So I am assuming it is HID, correct?

Okay, now, if my Z is HID, how comes there is no way to buy a 350z HID headlight assembly? All I ever see is halogen and projector, but I thought projector was basically a way to make halogen into HID.

Will projector lights fit into my car if halogen does not? ARGG!

My headlights are sort of blueish and very clear/bright. But I don't know how to get something that fits it.

Thank you for whoever sorts this mess.

Umm the HID lights wont fit into the normal halogen bulb sockets. HID bulbs for projectors are d2s while the ones for reflectors are d2r. I believe the 350z is d2r if I'm not mistaken.

Oh and yes you probably have HIDs and you probably need HID bulbs as a replacement. HIDs require a ballast unlike regular halogen bulbs so they are two totally different connections. Hope that helps.

We're not talking about bulbs. This about about the projector headlight assembly (like, a full headlight), replacing my HID headlight.

Basically, that plug underneath the lid for the bulbs, a halogen assembly won't fit mine. Will a projector assembly fit it?

make sure you bought the right assembly. The '06 models have a different assembly than the previous years, and use Xenon headlamps.

That's what I am trying to do. That's why I made this topic. It wasn't an 06 because they even look different. It was just a halogen light. But I want to know if buying a projector set will have the same problem. It doesn't say if it's for halogen or HID cars. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/03-06...QQcmdZViewItem

Those are the ones in question.

Depends if its made for Halogen or HID. Ask the person who is selling the set which its made for. They are two totally different housings. If I'm not mistaken, the beam pattern for a halogen should be different from the HID as well.

I sent him an e-mail. Thanks for your responses, and sorry if I seemed curt. This has been an on going problem since I've bought the car in march from a slimey dealer. Already had to get an 06 transmission in, fix the window motor, axle click, chipped paint, etc...

Jesus this car is a high maintenance woman. If anyone else has any other suggestions for hid assemblies or how to get replacement ones or which are best, please feel free to share.

Thanks for the responses, again.
