Default Bodyshop quote for V2 replica from Groupbuy

I got a quote for 740 prepped, fitted and painted for my Nismo V2 replica front bumper, JDM sides and rear addons.

does that sound good? I know some of you guys had to have gotten them installed, just wondering how much work needed to be done before painting them.

thanks,
-Tom

That seems like a pretty reasonable price for prep, paint and install on a full body kit. I paid $480 just paint alone on Nismo sideskirts and my Veilside v1 front lip and rear skirt.

very reasonable as long as they are a good shop and have done kits before.

Seems ok since most of the kits that I've seen need quite a bit of prep before they will look good. All of the V2 copies that I've seen so far needed quite a few hours of prep. I said f*ck it and just got the genuine one.

really? I haven't seen much posting about quality of the V2 replicas, would you mind linking me? I thought the ones from the group buy were pretty decent.

The ones that I saw here (Shine) would take a minimum of 6 hours just for the front bumper. I have heard that the other GB on the kit was even worse.

Like I was saying, the Shine will take at least 6 hours of prep and the other ones (Punksterz) will take even more prep.

i got the one from punksterz and if you dont take into effect all the shaving and molding i did to the buper, just the blocking and sanding took about half a day. the fit on the replica is perfect. as soon as my paint guy gets back from sema i'll post up some pics.

Retail bodyshop is around $40 ~ $60 a hour for labor.

You're right about some of the ones out there. A customer got one of the others (I won't say who's) and the shop he uses would not even touch it. I can tell you the ONLY reason I decided to sell the one we are selling is because fit and finish was spot on when we got the sample
