Instead of cutting out the metal completely it would have been cooler to bend the metal to make a small louver (sp?)... probably would be much more difficult though.

thought of that but it too hard is u mentiond coz welding the aleminume isn't going to be a clean job as it is now adding to that my perpous of those is to get heat out not realy interested in getting airflow in i think i have enought airflow... thanx for the pointing out though... regards..

I was suggesting louver's slanted toward the driver so that the air passing over them would draw more air our from under the hood. Maybe they have an insert with a lip that could be placed inside your slits and welded on the underside of the hood for a clean appearance?

good job man. Put a black mesh grill underneath the vents and it will look real nice IMO.

There are a couple other threads around where people have done this. It's to approximate the Nismo RS Concept hood.

Couple questions:
1. can you post some pics of the underside of the hood showing where/how the cuts affect the underlying structure?

2. How sturdy are the Aluminum slats? My concern is that they might bend easily with no added reinforcement under them.

Putting a mesh grill {done properly} will strenghen the vents. Looks very nice BTW.

It's obvious that you spent some time and care on this and the results speak for themselves. GREAT JOB!
