Default Anyone have trouble shutting hatch?

I'm having trouble closing my hatch now. It used to be easy to close without shutting it, but now I have to use more force to close it. Many times I have to open the hatch again and again because it doesn't always close all the way. Anybody else have this problem? Thanks for your input.

Eh... hit the gym?

Most people have problems with keeping their hatch open, not the other way around.

Hit the gym? If I keep this up my arms gonna get huge. Plus I'm afraid I might dent the hatch in or something. But I do find myself really slamming the hatch down just to close it. I guess I should just have the dealer take a look at it.

Maybe the locking mechanism is getting frozen up a bit...try spraying something like PB blaster, or wd 40 to free it up.

Did you do the penny trick to make it easier to open the hatch? I've heard of people adding too many pennies, and it makes it ends up making the hatch harder to close.

Did they use a whole roll of pennies or something?

The dealer covered mine under warranty for the same problem. They replaced a spring in the mechanism. Now it opens and closes easily.

No, my hatch doesn't have trouble opening. It opens fine. Its just the closing part. I will just take it to the dealer. Maybe it is a problem with the latch. Oh well, thanks for the info guys.

I believe 5 or 6 is the magic number when you have problems.
