Default Racing Seats

I am going to buy a set of sparco milano racing seats but I was wondering what all I would need to go with them. So far I know that I will need harnesses, seat brackets which come with the seat I would order, a set of sliders, and a harness bar..wondering which harness bar I would order from sparco and how you get it to fit right and all that stuff. Is there anything else I will need? Thanks for the help I just want to have everything the first time I order so I don't need to slow the process down any.

And any places you know of to buy the accessories such as the harness bar and harnesses would be great also.

Get a BCR harness bar -- better fitment than the Sparco. I know two people who got the 350Z Sparco harness bar and were not happy with the fitment.

Are you actually going to track your Z or are you going for better comfort/looks over stock? If you are going to track your Z (Driver Ed. events) then some groups require a non-reclining seat if you are going to use harnesses. Look into that first before buying.

I just got Sparco Pro2000 seats for my Z. Unless you are going to bolt your Sparco side mount ("L") brackets to the floor pan you will need some kind of rail. Cobra seats sell a 350Z custom rail with manual sliders, but I do not know if you can use them with Sparco seats. Sparco sells all these item separately. Although they are a Porsche, Audi, VW tuner, I got good prices for these Sparco items from AWE Tuning.

Where could I get the BCR harness bar, and I don't think I will track it that often though I do know I am going to go to a road course sometimes but I am mostly going for better looks over stock.

I wouldn't see why not. You might have to drill additional holes in the bottom "L" part of the side mounts to line-up with the Cobra rail/slider holes, but everything else should be OK. But I understand why you would ask (I would too).

Sparco makes rails for 350Z, see their site (seat accessories). PN 400SB031L and PN 400SB031R (for 6sp Manual)

So, so far I am going with sparco milano racing seats, a bcr harness bar, the 2in 4pt harnesses, and then would I want the aluminum side mounts, and a slider? I can't find the track set or slider for the 350z on sparcos page. All I need to know now is the set up for mounts and sliders.

The BCR bar is a pretty nice piece but they are charging $500.00 for it? Thats extremely high figuring that an autopower roll bar runs around the same price.

Just something to think about.

The Sparco Track Set sliders are universal, same with the Sparco alloy side mounts ("L" brackets). They are there on their site, check under seat accessories.

That harness setup looks like it is for AutoX. It does not look like it is intended for use with a harness bar, but can be used with one (as a guide and to make sure the shoulder belts are the proper angle). The shoulder straps on that setup have metal anchors so they can be bolted to the back seat seatbelt anchor points of the car (like a Schroth setup), but that does not help you with a 350Z. If you are getting a harness bar I would not recommend that setup (unless you can remove the metal anchors from the shoulder straps and attach the shoulder straps directly to the harness bar). I would get the lap belt and 48" shoulder belts like shown here:

http://www.subesports.com/products/c...s/brand/Sparco

and then search for the best price online fo them.

Rollcage vs. harness bar has their own set of pros & cons that need to be factored in; especially, if the car is still going to be street driven.

As a point of data, I love my BCR harness bar. Fits like a glove, easy to install and there is absolutely zero play in the setup after installation. If you try to shake the bar to see if it will wiggle any ("play"), you will move the whole car before you move the bar a millimeter. I was happy to pay a little more for high quality and perfect fitment than to save some money and be disappointed.

Just my two pennies on the table...

Well that is why I suggested the Autopower Rollbar. It only goes from the seats back, 4 point bar "Half cage" as some call it.

Unless someone gives me load data, I would not trust a harness bar with my life, especially if I have passengers in the car.

Plus these harness bars provide little to no structural strength to the car beause that's not what they are designed for. But that's not the case with the rollbars from Autopower

Agreed on the half cage aspect. If I would have know that at the time I probably would have gone that route. I might still go that route and sell my BCR harness bar next year this time or maybe in 2008.

Plus the half cage is cheaper than the BCR bar, the shipping is what sends it over the top but its only about $100 more or so.

Downside, it has to be welded in.
