Billet antenna installed - pics
just put my "shorty" billet antenna on today. I dig it.... really goes will with the door handles.
it's about half as tall as the stock whip antenna. Got it on ebay for $35.
I used red lock-tite with a dab of epoxy to install... I doubt anyone will be able to steal it.

I have been searching for a replacement antenna, and this silver & black one looks the best to me. Can you tell me if the radio reception is any different with this mast - either better or worse (or no different). Thanks.
I actually just got the same antenna and it does look sweet. The reception appears to be the same as it was before-no change. Just make sure you don't go through a car wash with it. I did about 10 minutes after I put it on and it bent
. Anyways, it bent back ok but be careful.

Trust me I usually hand wash my car and never like going through a car wash. Unfortunetly, I had to get the salt off the bottom of my car. Would rather repaint the car in a couple of years than have the undercarriage rot away. And no, I normally don't drive my car when it is salty, just happened to pick some up last time I was out.

Good excuse - salt sucks and so does rust bottom!
OK guys, here's an interesting development. I received my billet antenna from ptuning.com (for $22.95), and it looks fantastic - just like the photo at the top of this thread. However, when I screwed it on, I got NO RADIO RECEPTION - - NADA!!!. Just before I was ready to ship the thing back to the distributor, I got the idea to place a small metal washer inside the bottom of the mast and then screw it back on. WOW, it works perfectly and my radio stations are better than ever.
If anybody else encounters this problem, you now have the solution.

good point.... rather than use a washer what I did was grind down the screw in the bottom of the antenna. It's about .10" too long.
Either use a washer or grind down the screw about 1/8".
