Default usdm vs jdm?

I called the nissan parts store.com to find out if there parts were usdm or jdm. Unfortunately the girl couldn't give me a straight answer. I like the usdm side sills but can't tell from pic on their sight if it's jdm or usdm. The price is bar none the cheapest I have seen for real Nismo $385.00. They said that all thier parts are made for cars shipped here. Is that my answer?

I believe if you're calling any dealership in the US, they're only going to have USDM Nismo parts (which do differ from their JDM counterparts). For genuine JDM Nismo parts, I would look in the Vendor Classified section

Those are the US sides. JDM sides are close to $1k.

Opininons please, on quality: usdm vs. jdm

Lets say side skirts.....Is it really worth the extra cash to own a pair of JDM sides or just go with the USDM

so quality isnt as much the issue as looks and exclusivity. not alot of people have the JDM so if that matters to you that would be a reason to pay extra along with the fact that the USDM have a larger "bulge" to them than the JDM and would take more of a beating
That's what I was figuring.... I own a few JDM components on the Z also.... I haven't ran into a problem yet where it was choice between 2 identical items, one being JDM and the other being USDM, though. The JDM items I purchased were purely out of personal preference, where there were no US counterparts to buy instead.

I like the usdm sides a lot better. They have a fatter look and not as much gap between front and rear. The price is great from this site almost $90 cheeper than other vendors.

I still like the JDM sidesm which is what I have. It compliments the line better than the bulky look of the USDM sides.

I, too, prefer the JDM sides (I think they'd flow better with my Veilside v1 front and rear), but I have the USDM. They are fine as well; I just couldn't justify the extra cost for the JDM, especially considering they are more brittle fiberglass. Impacts aren't really an issue, but rock chips are and the urethane stands up to it much better in the long run. The average Z owner won't know the difference between USDM and JDM, anyway.

I'm not sure how the JDM sides attach, but if they go on the same way as the urethane pieces, I wouldn't ever want to have to pull them back off; you have to yank the sides pretty damn hard to get them off and that'd surely crack the hell out of the fiberglass ones. Maybe they go on differently, though?

Yeah, the US sides use the pop rivets. How do the JDM sides screw in? Where's the access to the screw heads?

Interesting; I've not noticed that in the pics I've seen, so they must not be that noticable...
