Kirk Racing or Autopower Roll Bar
I did a search, but the info seems old
I am looking for a 4 point roll bar, either the Kirk racing or Autopower bar. Any feed back on either setup would be great. I want to run harnesses and will be running stock seats for now, but upgrading to race seats soon.
I am looking for information on quality, fitment, and thoughts after having the bars installed. Also, is there anything that I need to watch out for with these roll bars?
Thanks

Although the info is old, Kirk & Autopower have not changed their designs, so I don't see why anybody's opinion has changed.
My opinion. Don't get a roll bar, don't run harnesses, and don't run racing seats on the street. You are actually putting yourself in a lot more danger by doing so. Racing seats and harnesses are not safe without a roll bar. A roll bar is not safe without racing seats AND harnesses. Racing seats, harnesses, and a roll bar are not safe without a helmet and HANS type device. I have explained this 1000 times in other threads about this very topic so search through those old threads and you will find my long in-depth information on this in at least one of them.

I did not think that the opinions of the people before would have changed, but maybe that more people now have roll bars. Or people that bought them before and were too caught up in the (cool factor of having a roll cage) are thinking that if only I had done the bar this way, it would have been better. That is what I was looking for.
I am also setting my car up to be more of a track car with little us on the street as I have another car, and I will be wearing a helmet.

.Cool, the SCCA approval was one of the things I was wonding about. I heard that the SCCA might change the specs for the roll bars for 2007 or 2008, is this true? And will the Kirk Roll Bar still meet the new specs?
Thanks

Do you have more photos of the roll bar? It is hard to tell, but is the cross bar for harnesses? I am looking for one that is setup for harness.
