Default adding Cruise control?

Hey guys,
I did not think I would need cruise control, but now I wish I had at least gotten that. Is it possible to add cruise control? Has anyone done it yet?

Thanks,
Shaun

WILL NOT work, been discussed many times. Like I said before, I have been here 3 + years and never seen a Base Model with Cruise Control! And those kits on the link above WILL NOT work!

yea dont waste ur time and enjoy the fact that the base is the lightest bebe. That was my view on it. Now that i have a enthusiast im in love over again. But the weight is heavier. lol its a game of amenities vrs practical performance.

damn.. oh well. I am just glad I can add an LSD. That is the main thing. The cruise control was more like an after thought. I have a good radar detector, so I will just rely on it.. and common sense. Thanks guys.

If you look at a diagram of the ECU pinout they are ther for the cruise control. I am going to buy a cruise control steering wheel and try and wire it into the ecu, I bet i can get it too work.

Don't hold your breath waiting for it. The FSM diagrams show connections and details on ALL options, the FSM is not model specific. Therefore it may show pin connections for Cruise and VDC, TPMS and other options, but the ECU doesn't have the code to support them.

Not only would you have to add the switches and wiring, you'd probably need a ECU from a car that supported cruise control.

Which is what I would expect too. But I also would imagine the car is wired for it...I mean, these cars do use some parts bin mentality...I just wish someone had done it already. I want to, but I'm not going to be the one to f my car up haha!

I see this is an old thread but I came across some information about adding cruise control. I searched these threads looking for the answer myself, because I found such a great deal on a base model I couldn't pass it up. But I wanted cruise control. I came across this place that offers drive by wire kits. Has this been talked about....I didn't see it anywhere.

Hope it helps, I've email the company asking for more info.

Oh I just bought my car last week, so i'm not claiming I know anything.
