i think hes talkin about those little things that hold the button in so that it doesnt lock and you can just pull it w/out hitting the button. Although youd be screwed if you had to park on a hill. Unless you just leave it in gear but taht would be kinda hurting the tranny

someone should make a little beer cozy type thing that slips over the ebrake handle and fits tight enough that you can slide it down and have it hold the button in. ergonomics + function.

actually, scratch that. steal my idea and your *** is grass. $30 shipped!

thats sound like a good idea sicne i'm kinda lazy and pushing a button is like running across the states for me... but it sounds like a major safety issue

I have one on my car, kinda pointless cause the ebrake isnt real strong, but cool none the less. I bought it from driftfactory.com. Here is the link http://www.driftfactory.com/product_...products_id=59
All I did was take the spring out of the ebrake handle, replace it with some mechanics wire so it connects the same spots as the spring. Then I took the stock button off and shaved it down with a dremel until it fit inside the drift **** nice and tight. And thats it. It releases just like the stock button, but since there is no more spring you have to hold the button out when you lift the ebrake. Not hard at all.

I have something like this on my old Mini, you can yank up the handle but it only locks in place when you push the button in. Then to release it you yank it up again and it releases.

Looks like this

You would think someone would make these for Zs (and other drift worthy cars) if I can get one for an old Mini.

Just to clarify things: "Spin turn *****" or "drift *****" do not disable the locking mechanism on the e-brake...to lock the e-brake in an up position with one, you just pull the **** outwards

the drift button just basically removes the spring mechanism from the ebrake.
in order to park when you pull the ebrake up you just pull the drift button outwards.

I just put my finger in the gap its leaves between the end of the **** and the handle when I pull the brake up, it locks very easily.I barely have to pull on the ****. I don't use it to try to drift because the ebrake really does just suck. Its just kinda cool.

I just installed a Momo E BRAKE handle and boot. When you put in kit, you can take out spring. It will look a 1000x better and be functional for your needs.
