Default i got screwed

first the rant:

i come home from a business trip after a week to my apartment complex to find that my Z had been towed by my apartment complex from one parking lot to another becuase they were paving. they did not contact me or give me warning in any way, except a flyer on my windsheild 2 days prior to the paving which was useless considering i was already out of the state. then i recover the car to discover the towing company had scratched up my b-pillar cover and window trim (im guessing they slim-jimmed it cuz i park in gear). no one is claiming responsibility, and my insurance company wont touch it becuase it is less than $500 in damage. to make matters worse now my insurance is classifying my car as "damaged" until i prove to them that I fixed it. what F*ckers.

now the question:

what would you do?

a) would you buy carbon fiber b-pillar covers and find someone to touch up the paint on the trim? if so what brand, i dont like how the varis ones have an emblem.

b)attempt to polish the cover and touch up the trim yourself? if so, what polish works well on the plastic pillar cover?

i know this a lame thread but i'm really pissed off right now and i just want my baby to look new again. ps, dont ever move into Laguna Clara Apts in Santa Clara, CA. they are the lasiest bastards on the planet.

i know that theres someone on these forums that did custom CF pillars for interior and exterior so if someone or you can find him.. might wanna give him a call. But i know theres another company that makes cf pillars without an emblem, but i can't really put my finger on it at the moment.

Also, can you provide some pictures??

The responsibly for damage is the towing company. Put a claim together in writing with an estimate of damage. Send the claim registered mail to the towing company.

If they refuse to pay, or you do not hear from them in 14 days, suck it up. Fix it yourself.

Considering they towed your car for their purposes (it's not like you were illegally parked,) and they did not give you proper notice (2 days during the holidays? come on) then they're totally in the wrong. Tell them they/the apartment complex who did not aptly inform you of the paving are paying for your ****. That is ridiculous, sorry man.

i don't see how they can only give you 2 days in advance and not take responsibility for what happened!

Yeah, it is the towing company's problem now. Also, a 2 days warning is messed up. For anything, my apartment complex would give a warning atleast one mnoth in advance for that kind of job.

THey are ok though bout paving and they dont take your car to an impound lot they just tow it to a different street thank god if you happen to forget, well thats where I live I did have to rip them a new one when the damn leaf blower guys came around in the fall and F'd my cars engine bay. They were doing all kinds of $hit near my car apparently and got tons of leaves in my engine bay and found out the hard way when on the road. Opened up my hood and had like 3 lbs of leaves everywhere!!!!!!!!! WAS PISSED to say the least

Since when did anyone need to let the management staff at their apartment complex know when they were going out of town to avoid liability????????

I hear where your coming from, I'd be just as pissed! I'd file a claim with the apt complex and the towing co. This may prompt the apt complex to call the towing co. and prompt some action out of them. In the end you may have to take the towing company to small claims court. Good luck!
