I just went to my local autozone and purchased I think Duplicolor spray paint and primer. I would just suggest that you take your time and double check your seals before putting it back in the car.

No ---Little hard to sand due to irregularitys, But super clean -----Wipped it down with laquer thinner----dont touch it with ur fingers, semi wet coat ---Then 2 wetter coats-----

Krylon Fusion is a no Prep paint requiring no sanding or Priming, Take it for what its worth cuz ur actually painting chrome. But so far so good -----Used it on my door handles also

I used permatex Clear silicon but in the future I will switch to a urethane calk ---Its self leveling and more flexible ---The silicon stays where u apply it where as the Urethane flows into the nocks and crannys and drys to a soft rubber consistency
