Default Z Help? Removal Black Strip Sides

Hello all, I got a '06 SS 350Z I was just wondering how do you remove that stock black strip on the side of the car, its the line that runs through the front fenders to the door and ends at the rear fenders. Anybody got any tips in how to remove it? Thank you all for your help.

Are you talking about outside, inside, or underneath the car? I'm not sure I follow what you're talking about. Pics maybe?

Oh, pin striping! I don't have any on my 03 and didn't know the 06 did either. Thanks for the pics.

It's basically just a sticker so I don't see why something like Goo-Gone couldn't be used to soften it up and peel it off.

Is Goo-Gone safe on the paint?

Goo Gone is safe on your car exterior, using instructions for hard surfaces. It's safe on your upholstery and carpeting, using the instructions for carpeting. It's safe on the vinyl and glass, but may remove the tint from the tinted side of windows.

If you go to a detailing supply store or look online you can get a plastic razor that is safe to use on the paint and will make it pretty easy to take that off...just be gentle with it.

edit...you could get a heat gun and that would really make it easy...don't heat up the paint too much though.

Thanks all, I tried to remove it by hand and it came off. Then I finished it up w/ "Goo Gone" to take out the left over pin stripe, thank you all for your comments. /Bow

Almost all pinstriping is applied by the dealer (not manufacturer) some even automatically charge more for this.

Removal is best done by hand on new cars, after some time you may need to use a plastic razor blade to start the process and goo gone to remove some residual glue.
