Removing Stock Embelms?

I just wanted to thank everyone for their help and input.
The first thing I did when I got home was I yelled out "Tony! I need a blow dryer, goo gone and dental floss." He immediately replied with: "Who do you think you are Macgyver?"
After the laugh we went down to the garage and followed the steps as described and it took us no longer than 10 minutes to get the entire thing off including all of the adhesive. The only touch I added was while I was holding the blow dryer I had him pour goo gone just above the letter. After the letter came off, I rubbed the adhesive with a microfiber towel and it immediately came off.
Putting on the Fairlady Z emblem was as described above, couldn't be any easier. Here are some pictures:

No and no, to my knowledge and from the posts I read. I used fishing line to seperate the glue backing from the emblem. If you want to someday reuse the emblems, make sure they don't fly off and hit the concrete.

If you mean from the hairdryer, well, the emblem will wiggle more. If you mean from the Goo Gone step, you'll know from touch.
Should I focus on one letter/number at a time or the entire string? -
I'd do one letter at a time....
Some lessons learned-
After you seperate the emblem w/the glue backing, shoot it with Goo Gone and let it soak in the glue backing, then start to peal it away. It was a PITA! Spray and peal (repeat....over and over!)
I ended up with some minor scratches, but that didn't bother me since I was going to cover it ALL up with another Z side emblem (replacing all my GOLD emblem with OEM finished ones).
I read that someone took a valve stem piece and fitted it to a drill to take off the glue backing. I'm still doing research on this method, since I'm also taking off my 350Z rear deck lid emblem off and NOT replacing it with an emblem. So, I definitely do not want any scratches.
I'll keep you posted!

you don't need gooo gone. Use a wet rag and a hair dryer and push the remaining adheasive off in extremely small quick strokes pushing in a constant direction. I removed the infiniti lettering and G35 badges this way. It was really easy, and just took a little time and patience.

my problem is, i can still see 350 Z imprinted on the hatch... it's like the sun baked the image on there...
question is, should i just go ahead with the fairlady badge, or should i do something about the faint 350Z image?

Go to Autozone, get some Turtle Wax rubbing compound or somesuch, rub it in where the markings are, and it should remove it. Afterwards, WAX the area (after cleaning and claybarring, of course), or better yet, just wash your whole car the right way.
The rubbing compound should remove the fading/garbage in your paint.

As for emblems, debadging FTW. Take the 350Z emblem off (you've already done this) and drive around, look at it, ask opinions, and then if you still want Fairlady, then add it.

IM planning on taking mine off today and sanding them down and repainting.
Just still researching on paint and finish.
And the "350Z" came off without floss or hair dryer so im going to see what i can do.
