Default DIY gone Bad!!

so the idea was to polish my uper intake in the downtime i have at work, it started out ok. i used a air powered wheel to remove all the casting marks.
this went ok, but now i have a bunch of indents where the wheel dug in any tips on removing these since trying to sand them out by hand is taking hours, and i am ready to just paint this thing.

on with the pics

sounds like too much RPM's and too rough of a pad...

get a softer pad attached to like a dremel...something that you can set the rpms and there is no way of going over...try a 18 volt drill maybe too.

take your time...

A dremel is a waste of time, these are way to big(plenum). you need the right tools for the job

if you're going to paint it, get some bondo or JB weld and fill in the bad areas...go over it by hand and make it all smooth, then paint.

...I did mine like that and am currently painting it. (I removed the 5 long humps, and 6 bolts in the middle)

this is my first paint job...w/out the humps and bolts holes removed:

Just make sure you get some high temp clear-coat for it when you're done...I think its on Joe's car that the finish is gone from a heavy-duty engine cleaner, and its got stains all over it and generally looks like chit...

BTW, if you didnt hear, I'm keeping the car for sure now..

you won't know pain until you've felt the wrath of stuck pulley bold or the Cats bolt

Or break the bolt that rear strut pillow mount mounts to.. My buddy had to drill a big enough hole on the rear strut bar and hammer out the broken bolt... S@$tty deal... Thankfully the bolt was pressed on, not welded on...

Back to the topic....
Polishing takes too much time.. Just chrome the damn thing~
