man i have seen so many people around here complaining about MAACO...sucks bro. carlos (chochoky86) has had this matching paint problem since he slapped on his INGs body kit, it's hard to get that pearl effect on there....you should shoot him a PM he might be able to help you out. also try asking around in the local forum (rgv one). I heard good stuff a while back from that paint shop going south on 2nd right before 83rd (building is neon green i think)....saw that bisdak Celica there a few times...they also fixed my friends Tiburon...they matched the paint and molded his kit perfectly.

P.S. i got rearended on my right rear and took some paint off about 1 month ago but ive been hesitant to take getting it fixed cuz of the damn paint shops sucking down here...right now im leaning towards that one i mentioned above...do you know anything bad about it??

hey man, finally someone from the valley that knows what i'm talking about. See I was worried about pain quality, I know a couple of guys that can match it closely buy quality is what I wanted so I went to making since they are pros. I've gotten things painted before on the side and they ended up chipping when the smallest rock hit and didn't want that happening again on my Z. i'll send chochoky a message maybe he can help me out, but man this is frustrating. $500 dollars later and still outcome is no good. you know what i'm talking about when you say 500 to paint a front bumper in the valley is hella lotsa money. people on the side can have it done for 150 or 300 at the most. I haven't really heard anything bout that shop but i'll give that celica a call and see what he says.

I have to be brutally honest with you. If you expected more from Maaco, and that too with a WHITE car, than what you got, you were kidding yourself.

Get your money back and take it to place that knows how to paint. No decent shop is happy with just the paint code. Paint is prone to fading over time. A "real" painter would want the car or at the very least, the gas door left with him so he can do a proper match. Maaco can't even do that.

allright guys here's the deal. They took my "mudguard" even though I insisted that they take another piece since I dind't think the mud guard matched the car, they insisted and ofcourse the bumper didn't match the car. The owner says all he can do to match this is to blend!! are you kidding me! anyways, it sound as if they're not going to repaint again. This isn't my fauly anymore and would like to take this to higher authorities. I have filed a complaint on the maaco website. I expected more from a profesional. It turns out, they're only profesional on the outside. I am very disatisfied with MAACO and will never go back there again nor will I ever refer anyone there again.

yup they tried to match it to mud guard after I told the mud guard was different from the car! crazy people! anyways I took it up to MAACO corp and wrote a complaint online. They called me the same day and the next day fixed everything. MAACO will repaint my bumper for the third time and this time they will need the entire car for 3 days he says. It turns out that there is some descrepency on how much the lady charged me for my bumper and how much the owner knew I got charged. good thing I kept my receipts. So i'm not sure if the lady there was pocketing the money or what she was doing but the owner didn't know she charged me a total of 490 he said it their system it showed I was charged 270 something. She called me that same day saying the owner was really upset and he will try to call me but not to answer the phone. I spoke to the owner that same day and he was very nice about the situation. So this lady sounds like she's up to something.

What a shady *****!! Damn bro, I took my car to a dealership paint shop Dodge Country because a friend of mine wrecked his 300c a few times and afterward it looked flawless.. I mean they pulled the hood and all sorts of things/ paint matched perfect!! I took my car there for front and rear bumper paint match/re paint spoiler.. Came out flawless!! Some places bake your paint and have different processes.. Im not a paint guru but that made a difference... Oh forgot to tell you it was not cheap!! paid 1200 for it all.....

[QUOTE=bisdakr]Hi guys just got my aerosync bumper painted at maaco and gave them the paint code QX1 as it said on the door, got the bumper back today, took it home and the paint doesn't even match!!!not even close its a totaly different type of white, I have an 06 and paint code says QX1, I called the lady at Maaco and she said they painted it QX1 could there be another QX1? what should I do now, I just paid $350 for paint that doesn't even match, it looks like the white that comes on the rx8 my white is more of a dirty white. need help guys, did I get the paint code right? I did a search and for pikes peak white it says QX1, could it be their fault?

Not to flame you but you paid $350 for a MAACO job!!! What did you expect....Dont cheap it out on the paint for Gods sake!!

A real professional place would color match by using a special camera that takes a picture of the paint and they mix it up from that and it helps to leave something from the car...I.E. a mirror or bumper so they can color match to that....Sorry for my .02 cents but I had to say something.

When I had my kit done it was $1,000 and that was a deal!! I left my Stock bumper to color match to with them while they painted my Kit...On top of them using the "special camera" to get an idea of the paint on top of taking the paint code...

Not to flame you but you paid way too much for your kit. First of all...matching a Redline is no where in the world in comparison to matching PPW period!!! Anyone who knows anything about painting would agree. Also... I have yet to see one member here who has had a perfect match of a aftermarket piece painted an exact match to the PPW........

Are you talking to me?? 900-1000 for a quality paint job for the front bumper, side skirts, rear and door handles.....The paint is guaranteed for life, I have seen a redline Z and PPW Z body kits match perfectly so maybe you need to go to a place that can match paint bro!!

This is real easy...have your buddy with the PPW post his pics & his comments (not yours) & I like to see your Z pics too....very simple!

Very nice pics...Yes, I have had my veilside v1-lip with shaved logo & painted for $100.00. My greddy side skirts prep & painted for $240.00 where most places wanted up to $330 to $400 for the sideskirts. Yes, I do have a high quality paint job. I had the front bumper estimated, one place for $150 and the place where I had the side skirts said $200 for front or back bumper. You can do the math. I always negoitate a price beforehand because what most places do...they go into the computer and they see the price for example...let's say side skirts..it list a price & that is what they charge. For me they have to come down on that price or I just go elsewhere also the work has to be guaranteed in writing to my satisfaction.
When I had my engine bay radiator support panel painted...the paint shop had to do it twice because of dust particles & imperfections, I never went back to that shop again...but wow what I beautiful paint job the second time around. Maybe they don't want me back!!!!

But let's get back to what I've said...PPW is almost impossible to match & your paint job looks great but you did say $1,000 for the body kit and then it was $900 to $1,000 and then you included the door handles. I can't wait to hear from your buddy's PPW. Enough said. I don't want to jack the thread. BTW you do have a very nice Z.

Thanks, The DB color is a Biatch to match as well...There is around 5-6 colors in the mix. I guess the bottom line is make sure you get a guarantee to match before you sign the papers.. THats what I did and thats what you did. Fortunately this guy got his taken care of.
