Ok I posted a thread a week ago or so about my 06 headlights not adjusting after getting them back...Well I found the problem. These pictures are of the interior of the light. It is the bracket that pivots when adjusted..

I was wondering if anyone knew if I can just order the interior part or have to buy a whole new housing, which I am not trying to fork over 600 bucks for. I have talked to AAM and they are willing to try and weld it back for me for about 1/4 the price of a new headlight. I was wondering what everyone else thinks.. The reason I ask is that there are part numbers all over the headlight and I know one has to be the that piece.

I doubt it was mr.zipps. I have been in contact with him and went over how and what is assembled in these and dont see it being him. On the other hand I highly doubt is was me but who knows. It could have been. He suggested that I try to JB Weld it back together. I am going to try and do that and see if it holds. It should work as far as I can tell as long as I can gain decent access to it...
use PC Metal putty. JB weld is pretty crappy and brakes from vibration.

you paid for what you wanted...not a broken part. They shouldn't charge you anything and they should replace free/fix it of charge.

the possibility of you breaking the light is far less significant than that of someone working on the light. the fact that it was broke AFTER you got it painted further leads me to believe it wasn't your fault...

what's the operating temp on this? I love JB Weld - never had a problem with it craking before...my first car ('90 Geo) was held together by that stuff

When opening up the headlight the projector is never touched. The lens pulls away from the black housing and the projector is connected to the black housing. The only thing I can think of is that is may of broke during shipping. I spoke with Ryan and told him how the headlight is put together and how to adjust the projector. I also told him that I would be willing to reopen the headlight and fix it for free. I guarantee my work to the fullest and willing to help anyone with a problem.

+1 Mr.Zipps is a awesome headlight guy. It's definitely a shipping accident.
