Default Shift **** rubber piece

I wanted to know if I could put the rubber piece that came with the shift **** inside the shift **** boot instead of putting outside like this:

The OEM boot looks a little goofy without that piece there imo.

I am pretty sure that the shift boot is attached to a round plastic pc

I did just that today - put the rubber underneath the boot and now the boot goes right into the bottom of the **** - I prefer the look. Good luck, I had to rig it with rubber bands and zip ties underneath the boot. Took a little tinkering to get the look I wanted.

Would you believe it looks different in the photos than in real life?

I had my old Z like this for 3 years and no one ever said anything (even got compliments on the shift ****) and then I set up my new one like this and it looked fine.

Then I took the photos and looked at them, and yea, it started to look a little "different!"

It does look a little different but I also think it's because I'm so used to the finisher ring on mine. I used it with my Nismo CF ****, then kept it on when I switched to the RAZO RA117 ****. Good job, though!
