Default Vertex front bumper ONLY.. =)

Hey guys, before you flame, YES I did do a search for this, and by reading so much about the vertex kit, and looking at everyones COOL vertex kits on there Z's it made my descision for me.

I just want the front bumper though, I dont care if its a knock off either, Prefer it being knock off since the REAL vertex from speed alliance is like 600 bucks. Is there any place that will sell just the front bumper? If so let me know. Thanks

May i suggest something.

Vertex bumper $650 + paint (250-300) depends on shop
version select Bumper $300 + paint $500

go for the real bumper, you dont save that much after all the prepping going into the replica.. just my opinion from experience..

here are some pics of the version select...

I went with the Origin replica because the wait for the Vertex could be like 3 months.

Just go for the real thing since $600 is not that much considering our cars are around $30K? Also, the prep work needed on the real thing when compared to the replica will more than likely make the TOTAL amount spent pretty even. Also keep in mind that the replica is probably lower grade fiberglass.

So If I understood correctly, Vertex bumper comes prepped? or what... It sounds like your saying that the off brand comes in a box and you have all this extra work to be done just to get it to paint. You would still have to do this to the vertex kit right?

Also where did you purchase the Version Select bumper at?

Typically a knockoff kit has lower grade material, wavier surfaces, and since it is a copy it not as "perfect" as the original since it is essentially a copy. Think of it like a fax or copy of an original document. The text, pictures, etc. in the original are better/clearer than the copy (knockoff). These factors effect how much you have to spend on prep and paint work at a body shop with knockoffs in 99% of cases being more expensive than their original counterparts if you want it to have the equivalent appearance.

Knockoff body kits are one of the main reasons why many experienced car builders have learned that doing it "right" the first time is better than taking shortcuts whether it be with time or money.

When I picked up my Vertex...driving down there wasn't so bad. Then again you will need a truck or a 4-door with folding seats. HAHA.

I know Chris and Warren G (white guy not the rapper) at Speed Alliance so feel free to hit me up if you want me to hook you up.

Not a bad deal? What do you guys think?

Also is the actual Vertex kit, Poly urathane? Or is it fiberglass?
