I got the Vielside cf lip from a guy here in town and it has a milky look to parts of it. I took it to a body shop that works with CF and actually makes new parts, and they told me that the previous owner must have hit something. He told me my options are: having it rewrapped (pretty much them making a mold and creating a new part), or painting it body color. I dont know if your mishap created any discoloration, but if it did you might be in the same boat as me.
If the clear coating (resin) is cracked, the only way to fix it is to remove the clear down past the level of the crack, and re-clear. It will be a pain in the ***, for sure, but doable.
the crack is pretty deep.. through the white core.. can performance shops be able to match the pattern and repair it? If not, I think it's done for...
I don't really see it. To add material you would build up that spot and make it uneven. Like I said earlier if anything I would get it how you want it and add some resin. Either that or fix it from the back and paint the whole thing. You might see from someone with more experience, but those are the only two choices that I see. But seriously, like I said earlier, if you decide not to do anything with it I'd be interested if you want to get rid of it.
if its through the actual cf then just fiberglass it a little on the back side to keep it from cracking anymore...and live with it. if its only in the clear u can sand it flat add some resin and reclear. post some pics or send me some and i'll tell u if i can fix it for u.
