Default matte(sp?) paint

Whats your opinions on painting a Z with a matte finish? I'm trying to decide on a paintjob that has potential to stand out, but not be gotty/flashy. So while I was helping a friend with his STI this afternoon we talked about this a bit and he mentioned trying a Matte' paint style with yellow, black, or grey. Now I know this looks good on some older cars, my quetion is how you think a Z would look.

do not go matte finish with yellow. Grey would look a little blah, but red might work. If you had a matte black with matte black Work Meisters that would look really cool IMO.

yea i looked at matte yellow, looks like baby ****. I really hate red, even though i drive a bright *** red truck i cant stand the color, matte black looks good, i need to find a paint sample online of the matte blue. I saw green, it looked nice as well. sean had a good idea about the scale models, i may go buy a few tomarrow and play around in the shop now that we have some halfway warm weather.

another thing that may help, trace your car from different angles, just the main lines, than photo copy the images. You can than start using colored markers or pencils to see what colors should go where. (and don't forget to try flames)

Here is a matt finish done with maybach metalic

Metalics and solids like dark greans silvers and some blues and purples look the best.
