Default Veilside V1 Front Lip - Gone To Hell.

We had a big Z cruise here in St.Louis
well drivin down I-270. I was fallowing my buddies 300zx

Well he was ahead by like 3 or 4 miles and he is like catch up there is no cops

so doing 120+ in the fast lane....

i hear something and then everything is normal...
i was like ok nothing wrong

Got of I-270 and i started hearing sounds...
so pulled into a parking lot to find the Veilside V1 Lip to be stuck under my car draggin along.

No Damage to Car ...... Thank God.

just wanted to share ... my story ... still upset .. time to spend money on another one.

Maybe its fake or it was not installed properly, I dont care how fast you go its not supposed to fall off. Reminds of that ricer video where the kdis 4 foot wing fell off at 70 mph!
Peace!

I'd say it wasnt installed properly and got some air in it. 120mph shouldnt cause it to rip off, unless like said above you hit something.

Thats weird, I hit 140+ with mine on a few times, seriously the 4 bolts that hold it and a double sided peice of tape for the middle is all I had on and it was fine...probably loose bolts, or maybe you ran over a curb or something....who knows.

Did your V1 have double sided tape on the middle piece? As I didn't put double sided tape on mine and it would slide off the bumper easily.

I also have a V1 lip - after some +140 MPH speeds, the middle of the lip had sagged down a bit (I used 4 screws on the sides, and double sided tape in the middle)...the double sided tape in the middle wasn't holding on too well b/c the lip wasn't flush. I re-did it w/ 2 layers of double sided tape and the middle section is much more firm now.

Remember, you have Urethane, and with Urethane there are disadvantages that are highlighted in high speeds. Urethane is too flexible to be used as a racing material and will deform in high velocity situations. I would suggest a carbon fiber or FRP lip if you want to do high speeds.
