Carbon Fiber looks great on White car.. but is it going to last as long as the urethane front lip? I am referring to the Veilside V1 front lip BTW.

Considering mating the CF front lip with EVO-R rear CF wing, or Urethane with painted to match??

i have the urethane lip and have not had any problems.

i've heard that the cf cracks along the edges especially when installing. but if your going for the cf look, then go for it and just be very careful when installing.

I don't know the answer to your question, but the beauty of the CF is totally worth it. I currently have the CF ver 1 on order. I am planning to paint the sides and leave the center unpainted.

don't mean to hijack but quick question for people w/ the veilside lip - do you have problems going over speed bumps or going up service station ramps?

well coincidentally i spent 3 hours today installing the veilside v1 cf lip...and that was with the 'new crack proof' instructions from veilside. This thing SHOULD have taken 10 minutes to install.

First, I was not happy with the finish of the CF. There were dull spots...it almost looks like it needs more clearcoat. Then there's the fit. I had to dremel down the sides of the thing to avoid the cracking problem (why can't it come like this from the factory ) then when putting it on I ended up scratching my bumper's paint with the sharp edges on the thing. I was able to buff that out...but there should be something soft to put on between ths spoiler and your paint to it can't scratch things up. Then, when I attempted to put the bolts back on, they didn't fit..the fit of the holes on the spoiler was slightly off. It took me FOREVER to finally get these bolts in....it would have been a bit easier admittedly if I had jack stands to put the car on.

I don't have any cracking (yet?) and the lip looks good minus the dull areas....if I had to do it over again i'd probably have just gone for the urethane one and put some gunmetal colored paint on it. The CF version is a pain in the ***. Plus I can tell if I hit ANYTHING with this it'd crack like an egg.

yeah I just figured I may be better off with a urethane front lip, and a CF OEM hood. I want to bring in some black (CF) but not too much so it was front lip or hood, leaning towards the fusion hood now.

More opinions please!!!

if i had to choose between a cf hood or cf lip.... i'd get the hood. this way you can change back to the oem hood if you ever get sick of the cf look.
now if you got the cf lip, you'd have to bring it to get painted and that will just take time and money.
also there is considerable less risk with a cf hood then lip with the cracking issues and all when compared with a cf lip.

basically go for the cf hood instead of the lip.

I have the urethane and it was pain in the @ss to get mines on. I guess I got the one that's a little too tight. So the fitment issue really varies. You might want to put it on and sand the insides a little before actually getting it painted.

The lip will look awesome on your car when it's painted. Especially because you have a lighter color car...the ground effect of having that lip in white will make it look really low and aggressive.

The CF with the lip and hood won't match too well with each other because of the different coats and finish. IMHO, the hood will look better when everything else in front is white and the only thing CF is the hood. I think I saw this on an S2000 and it looked really nice with just the hood and spoiler being CF.
The flexibility of the Urethane is a plus too....just in case you take an unexpected drop on a bump.

and for Strife 350z.... I have no problems so far. The drop is really only a half inch lower. It's more of an illusion that makes the car look lower because the lip sticks out forward. I asked a few folks on this board (mgl) and they have had little problems.
BUT you have to be careful going out too fast on steep driveways. That nose will point straight down...you OEM aero deflector folks know what I mean.

we put my V1 urethane on today - one of the best fitting lips I ahve ever fitted and it went on in literally 15 minutes

The urethane was also very nicely done, and required little prep work to get it ready for paint.

get the urethane v1 lip, it will look better painted, and you won't have to worry about scratch the bottom of the lip... since it won't crack..

Haha you're right about that! I flexed my lip ridiculous when I was shoving it on and I'm surprised it did not crack or the paint did not start chipping off. I was literally doing a reverse pushup underneath my car to get my tight lip on.
