Producing a Chrome Grill instead of molding?
If there is enough demand I am thinking about producing a chrome grill that will fit over the current grill in the Z. I like the idea of having the grill for under $10 but I feel that with a car of this caliber I would rather put something that actually fits on there.
It will still be attached with 3M tape and will be more permanant then molding, which is likely to come off due to washing, wear, and weather.
Any thoughts or suggestions?

I believe the current solution is good enough, it does not come off when washing the car if stuck on with proper adhesive.

I am talking something longterm that you dont have to worry about. No cutting and trying to fit the angles perfectly. It will already be fitted to the exact specs of the grill.
My other point is that its molding, which to me is a cheap (in more ways than one
) I dont want to make something that will replace the grill because that will be a PITA.Thanks for the feed back and keep it comming.

how do you intend to make it? I think the idea is that they want exactly what they got, a totally chrome grill would be majorly gaudy... but thats propably just my opinion.

Its mainly a matter of what quality you want with out replacing the whole thing.

It was incredibly easy to measure/cut/apply and it took me literally 15 minutes to do. If it comes off, it'll take me another 10-15 to redo (I still have about 10 feet left over from my $8.99 investment).
Here's apic of my front end with the foil tape grille (3 strips, not 4 as I said in my post!). SS perf, clear bra. BTW, my front plate mount (also inexpensive) -- plastic universal plate bracket from Advance Auto ~$5, four tie raps, smoke shield and "ta da"...
you can buy it at home depot, its used for duct work(also great for putting on plastic near hot parts so it doesnt melt, its used on the back side of the rear bumper where its near the muffler).
not sure how well it could work tho.. Id think youd get creases in it...
