. But to answer your question on the 1st post. Yes you got it right. I would tape a sheet of paper towel to soak up any goo gone over spray. A bit **** but save time from cleaning.

In the first pic it looks like you tried to shave it with filler? It pisses me off so much when people on here suggest that crap. Do it right or don't do it at all. Not saying that about you, just people that think they know what they're talking about and suggest that method.

surely, this can be done without painting the entire hatch. I'll have to ask my bodyshop guy. I've seen him do touch-ups without having to do an entire re-paint. I'll have to ask.
