Default Sparco or no Sparco ???

What do you guys think about Sparco products ( seats ) for a Z car?

Or should I suck it up and go with Bride?

I know sparko makes good stuff, but i would not put Remus exhaust on a z, you know what I mean?

Also red or black ?

Thanks!

And this is what we are working with......

I have Sparco seats in red and I like the look. it would match your time attacks with either choice of color. Depending on which model you choose, Sparco seats generally sits about an inch higher than stock, which is annoying to me. I haven't heard anything about Brides doing that though...

I just got some Sparco Evo's in red in my SB. All you have to do to cure the hight problem is get the super low rails that are made by Buddy Club or nagasil (spelling)

Sparco is great , but Bride is even better IMO. I have had a sparco 2000 and it was like it was built for a fat guy. I have a bride zeta 3 now and it made a huge holding difference on the track with high speed corners. Sparco is good though.

Sparco Seats are great and many of the racing buckets are FIA certified.

what is more important that Brand name is you get yourself in a seat that fits .. tada.. YOU. not your mom. not your friend who thinks your car is teh win, but you.

the number one complaint about people who buy race seats is "its too tight" or "its too loose" well. hello. its cuz you picked the wrong seat.

My Sparco Evo2s fit MY *** Excellent. i get fantastic lateral support on the track and coupled with my 5 point harness i now wear my Z... on the street its comfy and my back doesn't hurt, cloth is another matter, they will fade in the sunlight over time, however doesn not mean they are inferior to Brides , recaros or whatever.

Bride seats from my experience tend to run on the narrow side thanks our japanese brothern in japan that eat way less than us fat butt Americans... but i'm sure they have wider variants.

My suggestion is goto a seat dealer and actually sit in something before you buy. SuperAutobacs, as an example, has a huge selection of seats.

Measure your shoulder width, torso/waist, and then go from there. just dont pick a race seat just due to popularity or "JDMness"... sparco are what.. IDMness?.

You are absolutely correct! I wish I lived close to a place that has a seat dealer like that... ( I got Forged Performance around the corner though ) My biggest problem is that I’m 6’6” @ 180lbs So I need to sit as low as possible, otherwise I won’t fit in with the helmet ! I’m talking to a Sparco dealer now, and they are telling me that I can skip the sliders, and just mount the seat to the base, but how would It be “as far back as possible” then ? So it looks like I will have to sell my kidney just so I can get some LowMax brides….

And as for JDMness, I would prefer to keep my Z as JDM as possible, but it’s definitely not a requirement. Especially, that Sparco most likely has been around for way longer that Bride.

the sparco base is a universal top, the bottoms are welded on to fit the Z. you can drill the side mount brackets super far back on that thing so your seat is "as far back as possible".. if you dont use the sliders you save like.. an inch or so.

however, you can still retain the sliders if u just weld a box frame to the 4 mounting holes and weld the side mounts to the sliders... thats what my setup is and its loooow to the floor. custom ftw.

something like this as an idea (technosquare built this for a race car):

Sparco seats are good stuff. Their brackets for the Z are terrible though.

it also largely depends what your budget is

Most importantly, you have to get a seat you fit into as Cheston said. In that regard, if you are a bit larger, Recaro and Sparco tend to have more offerings than Bride.

In terms of seat quality, this is where, in my experience, Recaro and Bride have a leg up - the fabric they use is just less prone to "pilling" than most of the Sparco fabric, and tends to wear better.

Both have been around a long time...sparco started in 1977, Bride in 1981

Thank you Adam, this is almost the answer that I was looking for. I found a place that quoted me 2300 shipped for a pair of Milano’s, harnesses and a harness bar. But it looks like I would be better off spending a little bit more on a set of GIAS....

How long does it typically take to get a set in?

We have the Gias, Stradia, Cuga (all carbon backed) all in stock
The Gias/Stradia will cost you quite a bit more than the Milano, the Cuga would be more, but not quite as much more

We also do lots of Sparco stuff too, so happy to quote you on whatever you might need

If you want red, we've got a great deal on a gorgeous set of Cuga in stock...you should get 'em otherwise they might end up in my car

I'm looking for a black seat with a red harness.

I think Z1 already pm'ed me a quote, but would you please do one more for me? I need 2 lowmax all black gias ( or Stardia ), all hardware, harness bar, and a set of red harnesses. I was looking at this http://www.sparcousa.com/pharness_tuning.asp?id=375

Thanks !
