Default Those with experience doing body work - Urethane Adhesive???

I'm trying to find out what exact kind of "urethane adhesive" is used to glue body panels together. For instance, you have a lip on a bumper and use this urethane glue and some c-clamps to glue the lip down to the bumper to eliminate the gap.

Basically my front lip ended up getting messed up earlier today and it seperated from the bumper. I know the body shop before me used some sort of urethane adhesive to attach the lip, and I think I can repair it myself if I know what kind to buy.

I did a quick search and noticed 3m and loc-tite both make some sort of urethane adhesive. I'm not sure what I should be looking for.

Any help would be great, thanks!

I think the 3m double sided tape is strong enough as that is what I am using on my cwest front lip.

I actually just used this Polyurethane silicone just the other day. I didn't use it for its adhesive properties though, but on the label it works as well. I used it to seal my Le Mans CF spoiler. I'm off work so Bye bye for now! lol

I have used the Urethane Adhesive that Glass Shops use for the Windsheilds great to seal up the areas where gaps are.

It makes your install clean as well. A member on a different thread mentioned using a toothpick to appy it in the really small cracks to make it flush. Use it sparingly or there will be a good chance your going to work your @ss off getting rid of the excess off the paint like what happened to me (improves the chance of glazing your paint if your not careful).

3m isn't strong enough. I jb welded my side skirts (only where there were gaps) and it aint going anywhere. but it had sticking issues. silicone glue you get from lowe's should work better, from what I've heard.

I do bodywork, so this is what you need to do. Go to a carquest, napa or a pbe (paint body equip) jobber, and ask for either sems or fusor plastic bumper repair kit. fusor is better but sems works fine too, it can be messy but this stuff can put a bumper ripped in half back together, not that i would but you can. its a two part epoxy just scuff the two surfaces you are bonding and mask off any painted parts you dont want to get this stuff on, and wear latex gloves unless you dont mind black **** on your hand for a week. The kit requires a special caulking gun, you can buy it or just push out even parts onto cardboard and mix together. and I repeat cover anything you dont want this stuff on. If you get it on the paint, you will have to repaint that panel, because it will not come off. Hope this helps. if you need any advise just pm me.
