Default Help/Advise/Ideas Needed as well as a caution

I have a '05 Touring and it is looking great. Yesterday I opened my door and discovered a tear in the grainy door panel. It just tore my heart out. After I settled down I tried to understand how this could have happened. Apparently the last time I drove it I got out of the car and closed the door with the seat belt not completely retracted. The metal part of the selt belt must have got caught between the post and the door panel causing the tear. The tear is about 1.5" long and 0.5" wide.

I don't have funds to replace the entire inside door panel so I was thinking about buying a side Z badge (don't know the official name) and just adhering it over the tear. Sound like a plan? Anyone have any other ideas? Thanks for your help.

PS Be careful when closing your door.

You can get a badge/decal to hold you over, but I recommend saving your pennies and and scouring the my350z marketplace... people sell used door panels all the time

You might get a better response if you change the title of your thread to something more meaningful:

Actually door panels are hard to come by on the forum from what I recall. They also cost an arm and a leg from the dealer (~350 each IIRC). Best bet may be to scour the junkyards and hope you get lucky.

If only you had removed your seat belts to save weight you wouldn't have had this happen.
