I would be most worried about the quality of a replica seat. In the event of an accident how would the seat perform?

Through experience with various mods, I've come to realize that you DO really get what you pay for. Just wanted to say that..

It would be nice for car shows and say they are real and get extra points.

Look at the bottom of his sales pitch...he even says,

"Note these seats are not oem brand

They are complete duplicates of the brand."

Get into an accident with those and you'll be getting buried 6 feet down.

sometimes this community amazes me

someone posts up a used exhaust, one that everyone and their brother has seen 200 times, and people ask for picture after picture

some dude with a whopping 4 feedback from halfway around the world posts up replica seats (blatant copyright infrigement) that he can't even see fit to remove from their seran wrap from before he takes "glamour shots" and everyone comments on "how good they look".

ooh..and he also is selling a used cellphone and used earings too...maybe he will do a combo deal?

Why should it matter? I wouldn't touch those with a 20' pole.

Isn't that copyright infringement since he is selling the seats with the name on them?

I would imagine so. But, hey, who at any of those companies is going to track down some black-market seller of rip-offs?? My guess, no one. Let natural selection take care of those who are unfortunately ignorant/stupid enough to drive sitting in them. It's one thing to buy a Rolex knock-off, a whole different thing with automobile safety.

When I was shopping for seats I did an ebay search for bride and pulled up dozens of auctions with cheap looking replicas. Unless something is changed since then I doubt that will happen.

It used to be a very big problem on ebay, but thanks to Bride USA and Bride Japan stepping in, it's largely disappeared. Now there is one company out of Canada still doing it, but Bride is in process of getting that stopped as well.

ebay = bootleg

no way to stop people from selling bootleg on ebay. every country has different laws.

just look at all the MUGEN, HKS, etc knockoffs.

and even movies and games are bootleg.

ebay = cheap knockoffs
