Best install i have seen yet, what did you do to make the console smooth? Filler or sanding? I was thinking of doing something similar with body filler to make a more flush fit.

just like the S2000 does.......... (its a button from an S2000)

but to be more technical it uses relays and taps into the ignition system, so basically the act of turning your key past "on" to start is replaced by the button. So you just move your key to on then push the button.

Looks great! Love the way you molded it in.

For those with questions about the wiring, parts needed and operation of the button mod, see my write-up here:

Thank you, Im happy that my work like you all.

I used a basecoat for external body and worked with sand paper...5 hours to make a console smooth

For the electric connection I used this guide

damn bro, thats some good work. You ever think about doing some business on the side for people. You should have made a DIY with some pictures of the process of making the dash as smooth as you did. Might be a dumb question, but where are you getting the start button from, like a website or something, thanks

the basecoat is already sufficient in order to render the surface homogenous, the use of the sand paper renders all smooth then, the color has been sprayed like was a piece of normal auto body.

So basically you didnt do any sanding to the actual console? just after you applied a "filler" base coat?

How much would having an autobody shop spray it cost? Dunno if a Lemans Sunset console would look all that good in my case tho.

I advise to you don't sanding the original plastic but the filler base coat.

Is very difficult for me to speck about price, 90 % of work is mine and my friend sprayed the color and finishing coat. He have a body work shop.
I payed he the only material that he used, 50 EUR about 45 $.

I love you color, LeMans Sunset...If I find a pic a post to you, I remember that I have see a Z with orange console....

P.S.

Im sorry if my english is not very good

I have seen the lemans dash just seems a bit drastic to me. Think it would need some more lemans else where on the interior to tie it in also.

I figured u or someone u knew had a shop but thought I would ask anyway, if you get a chance ask your friend how much it would cost.
